No, he does not measure up. But then, who does? Reagan had a great [and potentially very dangerous] gift of charismatic leadership. Luckily for mankind, this gift is rare, for the likes of Reagan make maybe 5% of its possessors, while the likes of Hitler - at least 50%.

I just finished a long post on this on a Fred Thread, but my point was that our frontrunners' idea of "conservative leadership" is to point out a couple positions they have that are similar to Reagan's, sweep the rest of their backgrounds under the rug, and hope we'll be fooled.

Rudy could not even reach the bootstraps of Reagan’s smallest accomplishments. Reagan believed in the supremacy (no abortion) of life, and had strong beliefs regarding the 2nd amendment.
