Basinger 'hires bodyguard for daughter' after Baldwin phone rant

Feuding Kim Basinger hired a bodyguard to protect her daughter Ireland after her ex-husband left an angry message on the girl's phone, it has been claimed.
The star is said to have arranged 24-hour cover for Ireland after her father labelled the 11-year-old a "thoughtless little pig" on the voicemail, which was leaked to the media.
Mother and daughter were seen in Los Angeles over the weekend - accompanied by the burly security man.

Baldwin has apologised for his outburst but a judge has since banned him from seeing his daughter before a court hearing on May 4.
The leaked message was contained in a sealed court file in the former couple's three-year custody fight over the girl, who lives with her mother in Los Angeles.
His lawyers said Basinger was the only parent with access to the vociemail.

"I am sorry for what happened," Baldwin wrote on his web site. "But I am equally sorry that a court order was violated, which had deliberately been put under seal in this case.
"Although I have been told by numerous people not to worry too much, as all parents lose their patience with their kids, I am most saddened that this was released to the media because of what it does to a child," he wrote.
Baldwin has been keeping his head down at a holiday home near New York.
He lost his temper with his daughter when she didn't answer the phone for a court-authorised call with him.

If my father made a habit of screaming at and threatening me in the manner of Alec Baldwin, I wouldn’t answer his phone calls on a bet. The girl is probably afraid of him.
This kid has probably had Daddie Dearest in her face screeching at full volume on more than one occasion. He’s a jerk and we all know it. Just look at his disgusting rant about Henry Hyde, or for that matter, George Bush.
I think my 10-year-old granddaughter would fit under her arm...not that she'd WANT to be under her arm, or anything... :-o
Maybe the child didn’t want to talk to someone who humiliated her the night before on national television.
I think ol' daddy already did the dragging when he personally called his own daughter all of those vile names.
They used to have eunuchs to do this sort of thing.

And you think making fun of his pre-teen daughter on some stupid nighttime talk show is good for her?

I remember overhearing my father 40 years ago say I was too dumb to get into a certain prep school.....still hurts today, even though I did get into that school and have two college degrees, one of which is magna cum laude. Hearing your father say something that derogatory about you scars you for life.....

Your observation about OJ & Nicole are right on target. That’s exactly what I heard in his voice when I first listened to that rant. It appalls me that so many parents of my acquaintance are defending this rant because, as they tell me, “we all lose our tempers with our children.” My parents got mad at me every day when I was a kid and the worst I heard was that I was “a brat.” (And they were right!)

You are so right. I can’t believe that they are giving Kim a pass. She has NOT been an angel and she seems to be the almighty here on FREEPERS just because people don’t like Alec. I feel most sorry for that little girl to have two disasters for parents. She is probably so spoiled and rotten too.
I would seriously make certain that any bodyguard I hired to protect my underage daughter was a strict and practicing homosexual.
