Basinger 'hires bodyguard for daughter' after Baldwin phone rant

Feuding Kim Basinger hired a bodyguard to protect her daughter Ireland after her ex-husband left an angry message on the girl's phone, it has been claimed.
The star is said to have arranged 24-hour cover for Ireland after her father labelled the 11-year-old a "thoughtless little pig" on the voicemail, which was leaked to the media.
Mother and daughter were seen in Los Angeles over the weekend - accompanied by the burly security man.

Baldwin has apologised for his outburst but a judge has since banned him from seeing his daughter before a court hearing on May 4.
The leaked message was contained in a sealed court file in the former couple's three-year custody fight over the girl, who lives with her mother in Los Angeles.
His lawyers said Basinger was the only parent with access to the vociemail.

"I am sorry for what happened," Baldwin wrote on his web site. "But I am equally sorry that a court order was violated, which had deliberately been put under seal in this case.
"Although I have been told by numerous people not to worry too much, as all parents lose their patience with their kids, I am most saddened that this was released to the media because of what it does to a child," he wrote.
Baldwin has been keeping his head down at a holiday home near New York.
He lost his temper with his daughter when she didn't answer the phone for a court-authorised call with him.
Why not put the kid up for adoption by....someone that isn’t a whackjob?
Especially at her age … extremely vulnerable to the whole image thing. Even worse if it comes from a parent.
I would seriously make certain that any bodyguard I hired to protect my underage daughter was a strict and practicing homosexual.
Maybe he meant that he is the child and he is saddened by what it is doing to him? Oh ,wait, I forgot that he is a total narcissist. Yeah, he relates to the world and everything in it by how it affects himself. He deserves to fade away.
Having seen several divorces close up and having seen the depths of hatred and devious and vicious acts two otherwise rational people will take out on each other, I’ve pretty much just chalked this all up to the usual “two to tango” crap of most divorces where both parties are equally at fault. Of course when you listen to only one side you come away thinking that the spouse you are talking to is a paragon of virtue and that the other spouse is entirely at fault for the state of affairs. Talk to the other one and you come away confused at how all this insanity came to be. But in this case Baldwin’s over the top idiocies have done himself so much harm that I begin to think that he really is the main culprit. Especially added to the reports of what a bully he is on set.
It couldn’t happen to a nicer guy. Maybe he’ll move to France like he threatened. Please. Today would be fine.

I think Alec is actually only saddened because of how small this rant makes him look.
As having 10 year old twins, I can easily see that. I’m always more wrapped up than 1 of my daughters. It will be cold outside, and she’ll be wearing a scort, t-shirt, and flip-flops. I’ll be bundled in my big jacket.

Interesting you say this. When I heard the “I’m going to come out there” part of his message I immediately thought to myself, “Yeah, and what? Are you going to ‘OJ’ her?”

It's beyond my understanding how a "loving" mother could embarrass her daughter in front of the entire world by releasing this to the media.
Mr. Baldwin's attorney is going to have a field day with this re: Parental Alienation.
Near as I can tell, both parents are jackasses and need to be sat down and read the riot act regarding using their child as a pawn in their dispute.

You are so right, I do not know if she released it or someone else did....I would be willing to bet mom had knowledge of it going public....just another fine example of two idiot parents using their child to get back at each other.
