Man not guilty in 'dungeon' rapes

DARLINGTON, S.C. - A jury has found a convicted sex offender accused of raping two teen girls in an underground bunker not guilty of kidnapping, sex crimes and assault with intent to kill.

Kenneth Glenn Hinson wiped his eyes and mouth and appeared to cry after the jury read its verdict, which followed about four hours of deliberations over two days.

If convicted, Hinson had faced a mandatory life sentence without parole under the state's two-strikes law because he was convicted of raping a 12-year-old girl in 1991.

They made up the story because they stole his drugs. But don't let that stop you.

Ummm... proof that 1. either he did indeed take them out of their room and 2. any evidence that they were restrained against their will or 3. any evidence that sexual activity did indeed occur as the two girls claim.

And these were 17 yr olds. Old enough to put up a fight I would think. Didn’t say they were drugged or anything.

It’s too bad so many FReepers are pointing out that I can’t get a fair trial from them for something like this based on their knee-jerk comments. Either that or Nifong has a whole lot of FR accounts.

No matter what evil exists in the world, the state should still have to prove a felony case beyond a reasonable doubt.

A father should be more concerned about their daughters telling the truth. There's also no DNA evidence, which means the girls weren't to worried about anything, until later.

Yeah, there should have been physical evidence of a break-in and struggle. Maybe there was, but I doubt it. Not enough to convince the jury anyway.
