Singer Sheryl Crow and environmentalist Laurie David have been traveling across America on a two-week Stop Global Warming College Tour, which winds up today at George Washington University. Crow and David (co-producer of the documentary "An Inconvenient Truth" and wife of "Curb Your Enthusiasm's" Larry David) have been touting their cause and chronicling their travels in a rather idiosyncratic blog. Here, on Earth Day, are a few excerpts: David (4/10, Dallas): I am jogging outside in 40 degree freezing cold . . . 70 degrees in January and 40 degrees in April. That is exactly why Sheryl Crow and I are in a biodiesel bus going thru the Southeast visiting college campuses to talk about the urgency of this issue and how everyone . . . everyone . . . has to start doing something. I would write more, but I have to go run warm water over my hands and thaw out from my run.

Some of these people--and many of their followers--are stupid enough to believe that they are preaching something new.

Here's how the one square wipe is done...
You take one square, fold it in half and then in quarters. At the apex of the folds you tear off a small triangle and when you open it there is a hole in the center. You insert your finger in the hole, wipe and then use the paper to clean off your finger (a twisting motion works best). You use the small piece you tore off, still in a small triangle, to clean under your fingernail.

Have they ever taken a good look at a blacktopped road after the cracks are tarred? Anyone ever ask what those white lines
might be? AFAIK, after the road cracks are tarred, the fresh tar is covered with toilet paper to protect it from car wheels until it has dried.

For that matter, "Cheryl", why don't you talk about the ecological damage the average American feminine menstral cycle foists upon the enviroment in terms of the amounts of the paper products and plastic packaging and applicators used and multiply that by 50 million or so!(sarcasm on)

If you REALLY want to laugh, go read some of the comments posted after that WP article. My face hurt and I had to wipe my monitor a few times (and that was after only 2 pages). Must have been some freepers reading and commenting on that site.
