Too bad these women don't put their obvious intellectual prowess towards a solution, such as an armed populace. Is it just me, or does Cho sound like an Islamic homicide bomber or shooter? Hhmmmm...

I myself do wonder if students "jeered" at this individual. This in saying "go back to China".If there are sworn afidavits to this effect, I stand corrected. It seems to me that he was a person who so scared people, that I do wonder about this.
Any one who writes for the Sunday Times has to been taken with a grain of salt. Oh, says Baxter "Then there were the college girls who reported him to the police and got him carted off to mental hospital after he sent them shy love messages full of yearning".
I would like to see the writer's take on the 57 people killed in London. This in the subway and London bus suicide bombings. I wonder what girls turned those terrorists off?

I wonder when someone is going to note that he was a senior, weeks away from graduating. what were his job prospects? College graduation is a huge and scary transition to adulthood.

Someone should have told Cho about mojitos and Kahlua Mudslides. Drunk chicks would have sex with him.

. He posted his multimedia manifesto to NBC News, went back to his room, grabbed his weapons and set out for more killing. It's too bad nobody thought to have the USPS screen all ougoing mail for anything sent by Cho. If the video had been intercepted by postal inspectors, it would have never gotten in the possession of NBC. Surely someone must have recognized Cho in the line at the post office.

Well..., let me tell you — they didn’t work that morning!

I would almost put this in the category of ‘can’t be helped’ (except if anybody withing 100 yards on that campus was armed). The guy was a whackjob, but not so much that he could have been locked away. Putting him into the liberal environment of a college campus only made things worse, and brought about the inevitable, especially after he observed how far away his personality was from average campus live (especially vis the females). I fully believe that this is a failure of liberalism, akin to section 8 housing (previous social brainwashing aside).

The suggestion that it’s anybody fault but that psychopath’s that the girls didn’t like him is ludicrous. He was obviously a creep, and if he showed up, uninvited, at my dorm room and sent, unwanted, “shy love messages full of yearning” - I might well call the police. I certainly don’t blame any woman who did in the least. Aside from this author, are there any females who would?

If he was a Islamic homicide bomber or shooter, liberals would be blaming the victims, Nancy Pelosi would have tea with him, and Harry Reid would declare he won.

the worst massacre in American history. No, that was 9/11. 2nd place would probably be Oklahoma City.
Neither of those massacres used guns.

Another student, realising that a friend was playing dead, was said to have deliberately drawn Chos attention to himself as the gunman searched the room for survivors and sacrificed his own life. Ah, the Muslim "hero" fantasy. This CAIR nonsense has already been thoroughly debunked on other threads.

What is being indicted in this article is the educational system and the feminist dominant social norms that screw up our young men over and over again by not allowing them the outlets to be young men.
There’s a lot of truth to that. Cho was an extreme example of what happens, but many young men have problems they should have if we weren’t living in such feminist-idealistic pc dorky times...IMHO, after seeing what the system has done to a lot of young men who no longer have the freedom to be fully male in positive ways, where people the popular culture looks up to are almost all dysfunctional entertainers and sports figures, and nobility of purpose is pretty much not inculturated anywhere.
There is truth to this.
Cho would have had problems anyway, but this is in part the price we pay for PC diversity demands.
Men need the freedom to be men, and respected for it.

The best and most complete article I've read yet. Well done.

I was thinking the same thing.

Lack of use of intellect is the problem. Will we continue to be ruled more by subjective (emotional) reactions after 35 years or so in that direction or more by objectivity (intellect and understanding), as in the past?

“even a solitary boy can commit the worst massacre in American history.”
Why is everyone so clueless? Do journalism majors require a lobotomy prior to graduation? Did we forget about 9/11 already? What about the Alamo? Am I a genius just for having multiple brain cells?

Camille Paglia, professor of humanities and media studies at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and author of Sexual Personae, believes Cho is emblematic of the crisis of masculinity in America. Women have difficulty understanding the mix of male sexual aggression with egotism and the ecstasy of self-immolation, she says. Or to quote Martin Amis on that other killer, Fred West: he became addicted to the moment where impotence becomes prepotence.
Paglia is a defender of the constitutional right to bear arms in America. She is troubled, however, by the ease with which Cho bought his weapons. The problem is not hunting guns but these semi-automatic weapons. He could not have cut down that many people so quickly or with such brutal efficiency without them. They have no use except for commandos, swat teams and paramilitary organisations.
I hope Paglia's qualifications to practice psychology or diagnose psychiatric dysfunctions are better than her qualifications to be a defender of the constitutional right to bear arms!

So Ms. Baxter of the UK has concluded that lack-o-strange was the cause of Mr. Cho's murderous rampage? Too bad he didn't follow this Surgeon General's tension relieving advise..
