“Gosh, I just learned that popularity = taxes, and that’s a good thing! NOT.”
Funny, when those new yorkers retire, they tend to go to states without income taxes. Those places are in demand, but they’re not the tax hell NY City is.
I wonder how they ever manage? Could it be they don’t spend huge amounts on social programs????

If you, as a born again Christian, pull the lever for a candidate who supports the most extreme forms of abortion and homosexual activism, you will be responsible before the Lord and will be no better than the opposition. What a load of crap. This country will be in deep "stuff" if Hillary gets into office.

If the GOP runs Rudy, then conservatives should RUN from the GOP.I agree. If the GOP has come to this juncture then it's time to form a party of our own. It certainly will be a struggle to do this but at least when we cast our vote for candidates in that party we'll know what we are voting for.

You are WAY too knowledgeable for a newbie. Been lurking long? :)A while, mostly I ran through a lot of old posts - within the last couple of years - I watched the Rather thing unwind, and almost signed up then - I had a very well written piece that proved, scientifically, that the documents were forged. Charles at LGF posted his (now famous) .gif overlay, and - well, a picture is worth a thousand words. I had nothing to contribute that would make the point clearer - and so, chose not to jump into the 'inferno' that was raging. The sides had been chosen, and nothing I said would make any difference to the idiots that immediately started talking about 'the content'.
I finally signed up (on Friday, the 13th) because I kept seeing totally wacko stuff being left unchallenged, and that I knew I could do.
I don't know what inspired some of the stuff that I put on this thread, I guess that I thought it might be fun to kind of be the little guy in the margins (a MAD magazine reference) for a while.
Sadly, some of my best stuff can not be posted. I don't want anybody to find it in a Google search...

Thats the worst thing about rudybots, and how you can tell theyre on the losing side- almost no humor at all. Meanwhile the people fighting for conservative principles are usually having fun doing it. I know that by answering you, you'll get goose bumps but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to touch such moranic babble.
Even Rick Santorum has a sense of humor.

Holy Cow! FR eats its own - news at 11.
Actually it's FR exposing those who attempt to pose as Conservatives by referring to themselves as "Social Conservatives" or "Moderate Republicans" but actually accept some if not many socialist ideals.

Well, I can guarantee you that I don’t like the fact that Fred gave to Hilery over Ed Bryant. That gave us a choice between Mama’s boy Corker or Harold “I never saw a bribe that I could turn down” Ford Jr. family.

Mr. Ramsbotham:I'd rather elect Hillary than vote for GiulianiBut once again, it does not say he would VOTE for hillary, just that he'd rather "elect Hillary". This was in a post that suggested if we stayed home we'd be "electing hillary", so he could well have meant just that he would not vote for Rudy, even if it meant Hillary would win.
I've pinged him in in case he'd like to expound further.
Sorry, but I was speaking ironically there. The sad fact is that every bad quality you can ascribe to Giuliani is possessed to an even greater degree by Hillary. Moreover, Giuliani has a number of positive factors going for him (from a conservative perspective) that Hillary doesn't. Believe me, if it comes down to a choice between the two, I'll vote Giuliani, in the full knowledge that I'll be getting a mixed bag.
Given the choice of death or bulunga, commend me to the latter!

More importantly, comparing Rudy Giuliani to Ronald Reagan is an insult to the Reagan legacy. Rudy is a liberal. Reagan was a conservative. Now that you bring that comparison up, Rudy agreed with Reagan on some things. Read the Rudy speech at the Reagan libray. Certainly, there are conservative things that Reagan believed that Rudy doesn't get. Roe v. Wade and the Constitution, 2A....
It's not a matter of promoting Rudy. It's the matter of shouting out when conservatism is practiced and succeeds. Even in the liberal hell whole that is NYC.

Hi Melas... I think both you and Jim are correct. One difference does not a liberal make. I doubt that Jim or anyone here would say that Cheney is a liberal, even when he supports his gay daughter. But if someone like Rudy is liberal on several issues (gun control, abortion, gay issues, immigration), you just cant call yourself conservative.Would you agree with that?
Fair enough. I certainly don't disagree with it. I think I alluded to this in an earlier post, but lately I've been having some misgivings about Rudy myself. Not to the point where I'm ready to abandon him as a candidate, but Fred Thompson is looking awfully good to me lately.
However, I'm going to be perfectly honestly. I've grown to hate some of the anti-Rudy crowd so much, because of their own visciousnes. It's gotten to the point where I've gotten up from the computer and talked to myself about how much I'd like some face time with some of the more vile posters as I walked down the hall to get a glass of water.
I keep going back to this one, but what kind of coward of a man calls a woman a piece of ----? Worse, he got away with it, and not a word was said. I'd say I was appalled but the word fails to caputre the level of my contempt.
