I don't think that some FReepers, Dallas included, understand just how much that sort of thinking hurts us and helps the terrorists. Arabs and Muslims are not a faceless, mindless "they", and treating them like they are is idiotic and self-defeating.
The very same people are behind our mission in Iraq. How are we supposed to protect the Iraqi people and spread freedom if we HATE muslims ? humm
If Group A does not accept them, but Group B will, they are bound to be drawn to Group B.
Ok...Too bad there weren’t Muslims like him on those planes that flew into the WTC, Pentagon and Pennsylvania....Or on the Buses in London...Or the train station in Madrid.
I agree - we American’s don’t want to be thought of as all “Paris Hilton’s” either....we are different....and cannot be generalized into one group.
I had a doctor who was Muslim and he was one of the most caring people I know. When I went the first time to his office, he was worried about my condition; he called me the next day to see if I was doing alright. He called about three times during the times I went to him. When I had my first heart problem, he came to my room in ICU to see me. I was out of it but my husband talked to him. We really can’t just generalize about people.
