Sorry to make it sound like I was scolding you. I am not. So, I’d like it clear that I meant no disparagement toward you at all.

There’s no plausibility to such an anonymous tale, coming out days after the stories of the Israeli professor, trying to counter-balance that with a story of “Muslim heroism”..... (1) why was the story not revealed immediately, as were other tales of heroism? (2) why does the person telling the tale hide behind anonymity? (3) think of the implausibility of a “movement” of momentary distraction of the killer — if a wounded person even thought that way, it would not be plausible to think that making the killer turn for a quick second to fire one more shot would be enough to save anyone else. It’s not like barring the door for as long as possible, a simple “distracting movement” followed by a fatal shot is not actually going to save anyone else.

No, absent any more convincing details this one does not pass the smell test.

Ditto. I also call posters out on factless statements that they make.

It might have something to do with the fact that Muslims have been getting a bad rap ever since 9/11.

A lot of people aren't much into being in the media spotlight.

This could be some sort of conspiracy thing, but probably isn't, even if the gesture/movement wasn't deliberately to save the other's life.

A general comment out there for some freepers: requesting that you look at ALL the words in the comments, and take into account the italicized words, before making angry criticisms (if you feel that there should be an angry criticism).

You're obviously as entitled to your opinion as personally have this opinion (yes, the wording of this sentence is awkward):
By considering "these people" to be the billion plus people who are nominally Muslim, discredits the many (not stating most) Muslims who are not a direct threat to this nation, and do not want war, but rather want peace.

In Nigeria, nominal Christians indiscriminately attack nominal Muslims on occasions (and the other way around), and do so as "Christians" (which they could or could happen to not be). Would a Muslim therefore be justified in stating that "these people kill every day in the name of" God? No.

The levels are not the same--it is readily apparent that Muslims as a whole are more of a threat to the world than Christians as a whole, but the principle is the same.

Over a billion people cannot or should not be so thoroughly tarnished by the actions of a few of their members.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm

I thought I had a patent on that line of thinking...

A classroom full of students watched Professor Librescu hold the door and they heard him yell at them to escape out the window. Many of them did escape and lived to be witnesses of his heroism. We knew of his sacrifice within minutes of the students reaching safety....

The anonymous student was not shot so he would have been able to approach the TV reporters, and broadcasted the news of the Moslem student’s “protective movement” which saved him, without undue difficulty.....

‘Nough said......

While personally wouldn't use the term idiotic, agree with your general statement. The loyal American Muslims should not be alienated by such opinions. And even for foreign Muslims, those views would only even have little effect on them or drive them even more away from peace and more toward islamofascism.

If Group A does not accept them, but Group B will, they are bound to be drawn to Group B.

Again, personally wouldn't be so critical. Islam, many Islamic countries, and a large amount of Muslims do harbor very anti-American sentiments.

You bring up great points about the hypocrisy of criticizing European attitudes toward Jews while holding similar views of Muslims here, though.

Also, if the word "Muslim" was changed to "Jewish" or "Israeli," the tune of some skeptics on this thread would probably "magically" change.

Just a little bit of counter-skepticism there, guess.
