Most of the rednecks that I've been fortunate to know well since the 60's are or were class acts. Many were combat vets. Don't forget as Bobby Baer sang on his 'Hard Times Hungry' album "It's the farmer who feeds us all".

Thanks for posting this. It's a great antidote to the relentless Dixie Chick whoring of the mainstream media. For instance, I read the story about the CMT Awards on E! Online, and it was all about the Dixie Chicks. Carrie Underwood won three awards, the DC's won none, and the whole story seemed to be about the latter. It was hardly a surprise that they didn't win since their video wasn't even in the top four finalists going in (and especially since it's a video that tells their fans to shove it), but apparently, the writer at E! was stunned that not everyone genuflects before them, so she just wrote about them anyway, facts be damned.

The capper was that the story about the CMT Awards had only one illustration. You guessed it: a picture of the Dixie Chicks! And since they didn't actually win any CMT Awards, it was a photo of them holding Grammys! Oh, how the writer obviously missed the good old days of the Grammys, when industry liberals decided who got the awards and everything made sense!

But then, what can you expect considering they assigned a writer who knew so little about country music, she referred to actual CMT winner Kristian Bush as a she, apparently not knowing he's male.

I was literally blow away when it happened. Monday night everyone was in the shadow of Virginia Tech so there wasn’t a live CMT thread and I didn’t post one.

Last night I dvd-r’d the few minutes of the speech to keep. I don’t remember when I’ve been so connected to something on TV.

All I can say is God Bless Foxworthy and God Bless CMT.

It was great. At first it looked like the awards had gone PC as the DChicks where mentioned with some sort of credibility. Then he gave it to them by saying they weren’t country.
