DNC Celebrates Earth Day April 20, 2007

Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean issued the following statement in celebration of Earth Day this Sunday:

“This weekend, people around the world will celebrate Earth Day through acts of service, stewardship of the environment and by raising awareness of important issues such as climate change. I am especially proud that Democrats have taken the lead on conservationism and energy efficiency. Unfortunately the Bush Administration has continued to play politics with our environmental policy by working to discredit accepted science on global warming and by rolling back environmental regulations.

“Democrats believe we should be strengthening and improving our environment, not rolling back and gutting our clean air and water standards. Democrats also believe that we all have a moral obligation to be good stewards of our planet. Cleaning up and caring for our environment is one of the greatest challenges of our time and we must work together across party lines to ensure that we leave a better world to future generations.”

Our family loves earth day. We go to fast food places that serve rain forest beef and still serves their stuff in styrofoam containers, then to finish the evening off we throw our litter out the car window of our gas guzzling suv. What wonderful memories.

I was one of the organizers of the first Earth Day in my area. We picked up the libs’ litter that day and we’ve been shoveling it ever since.

What is ‘earth day’?

It's the way hippie murderer Ira Einhorn devised to trick gullible fools into celebrating V.I. Lenin's birthday.

So the Democrats like to say that the environment is a “moral issue”. Interesting to hear them use that terminology. I think Al Gore says that global warming is a moral issue also.

So.........it’s ok to talk about the environment and stewardship of Mother Earth as a moral issue. But, these same people get angry when people talk about issues such as abortion or homosexual marriage as moral issues. Then, they take the position that we have to be tolerant, non-judgemental, and that we “can’t legislate morality”.

Yet on the issues of the environment, they want to push strong legislation on what they call a “moral issue”.

HMMMMM.................
