Without acknowledging his comments yesterday when he said the "war is lost," Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said President Bush and his allies "attacked those of us with courage to ask the tough questions and tell the truth about Iraq." He described their criticism of him and other Democrats as "an effort to shift attention from this Administration's failed policies" in Iraq.
In a remarks on the Senate floor after Bush's speech today, Reid did not repeat the "war is lost" comments. Instead, he said that "the longer we continue down the president's path the further we will be from responsibly ending this war." He repeated the sentiment two additional times in the speech and added, "but there is still a chance to change course and we must change course."

I listened to President Bush today at Michigan(?), and I waited to hear him mention the traitor, Harry Reid, by name. He did not and this is a problem. I would have said “Harry Reid said...” and then rip into the traitor Reid. I’m sure our troops would have appreciated it, along with many Americans.
Reid would boisterously pray to Allah to preserve his sorry ass. I wonder if the Muslim radicals would accept him - doubt it.
I listened, too. He had the perfect opportunity to get in one or two devastating sound bites, that would have been all over the TV news tonight, and he blew it. He could have pulled the rug right out from under Dirty Harry. What is wrong with those speechwriters, and Carl Rove?
The game is now over. We better pull out because the wacko members of the religion of insanity now see that they are winning if not have won and will pull out all of the stops. It will be easier for them to recruit murder bombers, etc. Our friends have learned not to trust as us as we will leave them hanging and at the mercy (that’s rich) of their enemies. Reid has, on his own (well with a little help) made ours losses mean nothing and have set this country up to be butchered as the wackos know it is easy for them to win. Thanks for nothing Harry!
