REID FIRES BACK AT BUSH, GOP
MSNBC ^ | April 20, 2007 | Ken Strickland

Posted on 04/20/2007 1:59:46 PM PDT by Eagle of Liberty

Without acknowledging his comments yesterday when he said the "war is lost," Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said President Bush and his allies "attacked those of us with courage to ask the tough questions and tell the truth about Iraq." He described their criticism of him and other Democrats as "an effort to shift attention from this Administration's failed policies" in Iraq.

In a remarks on the Senate floor after Bush's speech today, Reid did not repeat the "war is lost" comments. Instead, he said that "the longer we continue down the president's path the further we will be from responsibly ending this war." He repeated the sentiment two additional times in the speech and added, "but there is still a chance to change course and we must change course."

The Senator from al Qaeda - oh, I mean Nevada - needs to feel the heat in that state. Are they so weak there that they cannot let him know they don’t want his treason anymore?

Believe me, I hate to have a defeatist attitude but what is wrong with the Republicans? Why are they so afraid to stand up to the Rats? We really need new blood in Congress. Returning Iraq and Afghanistan soldiers interested in politics would be perfect.

I'm beginning to think that this whole thing is a conspiracy.

Maybe the Republicans and the administration really DO want to get out of Iraq. Maybe they're just letting Harry Reid be the fall guy and take the political blame for losing the war. That's why they are silent.

Maybe the Republicans think if we pull out now, they'll be able to run and WIN in 2008 -- while blaming the ensuing blood bath and all the American dead on the Dems. (Hmmm?)

Looking at the photo in your post, Harry seems to be developing the bulbous red nose of a very heavy drinker.

I just finished calling two of Reid’s offices in NV 775-686-5750 and 702-388-5020. I made it short and sweet: “I have comment for Reid. Do you want my name and phone #? ‘No’said the person. Sen. Reid is a Traitor to his country and is giving aid and comfort to our enemies and hurting our troops . Sen Reid is dispicable”. The response was what I would call meek.

Unfortunately, I have to agree. Nothing will be done because the Constitution has been ignored for decades.

Our representatives in both Houses are woefully ignorant of their duties and responsibilities.

Pray for our troops and our Republic.

Why blast the Republicans over what Harry Reid said? Better to blast Harry don`t you think? And, even if they did, this has been a big news week and the MSM has been busy trying to tie Imus, the shooting, snow in April to Bush.

Typical liberal lie. Reid didn't ask any questions...he made a statement. And he's not concerned about the truth. He wouldn't recognize the truth if it was taped to his nose.

I bet some letters to casinos in Las Vegas, stating that you will not visit as long as this guy is saying stuff like this would help.

Al Jazeera is reporting this story on their website. I called Reid’s office and notified them of this. The staffer said he couldn’t visit al Jazeera. Funny, shouldn’t Reid allow his staff to read news sources that quote him? I told the person who answered that Sen. Reid might want to choose his words more carefully next time. The phone number for those of you who want to call Reid is 202-224-3542.

That’s a great idea. Boycott the traitor state unless they get him back on our side.

Every single member of the Senate with an R beside his or her name must demand Reid's resignation.

It needs to be THE talking point on every single one of the Sunday talk shows.

I just called. I told the lady Reid is aiding and abetting our enemies in a time of war while brave men and women risk everything to defeat those Reid says are winning. Told her I cannot believe it, but that was a lie. I believe it is his goal to defeat Bush he must aid al Qaeda.

You gotta’ love when the cognitive dissonance gets SOOOO bad that logic becomes cyclical.

To psychos like that, the most ‘patriotic’ thing you can do is ‘be willing’ to tear apart your country and hate your president... and it takes “courage” to be willing to give up and seek defeat in a global war with soldiers in the field, all from the halls of congress.

Pa-the-tic.

A real President would call a press conference, focus the nation on his comments, denounce them, call for removal, and shoot up 20 pts in the polls. Instead we get donut hole. People wonder why his approval rating is in el toiletto.?.

Well said, and absolutely correct.

We need to put pressure on the Senate Republicans. This is utter BS.

Sorry, the Senate Republicans are currently too busy helping the dems scalp the incompetent Gonzales for misspeaking about the POTUS power to fire federal attorneys at will.

Maybe next year they can address Harry Reid's not misspeaking himself when he says that AMerica has lost the war. Comity and all that you know.
