Schlusselberg is just a typical brainwashed liberal. There’s not a single unique or new idea in his head.

The First Amendment is out of date. We should repeal it, so we can jail writers like this who attack other parts of the Bill of Rights.
To: Thunder90
Dems appear to be going for the daily double by tossing out both the first and second amendments.

The argument that trumps everything (I think) is that the citizenry is to remained armed in case they need it against a tyrannical GOVERNMENT. There is NO guarantee against that as history has proven, the 2nd amendment must stay forever for that reason ONLY.

Since “journalists” are now openly anti-American, maybe we should rethink that freedom of the press thing. Hey it makes as much sense as this idiots rambling

If these lunatics will follow a law that says they can't have guns, why don't we pass a law that says they can't shoot and kill people?
Oh, wait...

You left out the funniest part of this article:
“Max Schlusselberg ... is a freshman majoring in journalism.”

So ... according to the author of the article when I have a skunk in my hen house, a coyote in my pasture, or a cow with a broken leg ... I’m supposed to deal with these situations with a bow and arrow. Or a ball bat. Brilliant.

Still, I feel the dividend of this seemingly drastic alternative will save many more lives compared to hiding behind an archaic amendment in the Bill of Rights. Interesting that he is apparently accepting that the 2nd means exactly what it says.
I have no problem at all with someone proposing the repeal of the 2nd Amendment. It requires another amendment to do so, and we can fight that out openly.
Opponents only become a huge problem when they convince activist judges to rewrite the Constitution in chambers, then announce that we must all forever abide by their unilateral decision.

BTW, what an atrociously written article.
Almost every sentence is ambiguous to some extent, and he obviously uses word A in many places where he meant to use word B.
What a joke.

President Bush allowed the federal ban on assault rifles to expire in 2004. It was Congress that allowed the "assault rifle ban" to expire; President Bush said he would sign a renewal if it was passed.
Whoever imagined that we could defeat smallpox, malaria or polio?
Uhhhh, malaria and polio aren't defeated.
The right to bear arms should become something that exists only in history textbooks ...
The "right to bear arms" has existed since the dawn of time, and will exist until the end of time. All he can do is hope to legislate away the freedom to exercise that right.

"That guy has no concept of the Constitution."
He doesn't care about the Constitution because like all lefties, he wants to transform this country into the envisioned utopia ruled by a dictatorship who can enforce the "utopian" values.

A hit piece done by the pride & joy of the liberal eduKational syzStem.
Forget about the old-fashioned crap called the "Constitution" after all it dont sit or fit well in our "FEEL GOOD" society. All they want to focus on are:
1. Gays are the most evolved form of humaity and everyone else must bow to their superiority
2. Tradional values are obsolete and must be thrown out along with the old writings & legal precedents that supported them.
