This drives me crazy...they could have earned a huge amount of respect by turning over what they got in the mail to the authorities as evidence, and then just reported it. But NOOOOoooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOO.....they had to broadcast it for ratings. I would say they should be ashamed, but shame infers character, morality, and integrity, and I know they have none of those qualities. I have to admit that I saw the original NBC report. After it was over, I knew I had witnessed the media at it's worst, that this killer got what he wanted (immortality), and that there would be copycats. I didn’t feel all that good about myself for watching it; I should have known better. I have been unable to watch TV news, don't want to give this murderer any more of my time. I am also tired of the news media and their hypocrisy. I am just tired of the TV media and their warped hype just for the sake of ratings.

Thanks for the thread and daily ping. I’m not able to post much (that may change soon) but I appreciate the thread.
Also posting that I’m a proud donor to the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society, supporting the radiothon today.
In memory of my dear Aunt Jean who died of leukemia. RIP.

a third GOP senator
I wish these Senators would just stop playing this sick game of placing an R next to their name and then acting like a D.
Maybe this is the grand strategy. Get enough R's elected that act like D's, piss off the Republican base because the R's won't act like R's, the Republican base does not turn out to reward R's who act like D's and the D's win the next election. So, in essense, the R's that act like D's are traitors to their own party. Any House or Senate rules for this?

I’m glad I’ve been too busy to watch TV lately. I can’t stand it when they even play the audio on the radio. That video, as far as I’m concerned, is pornography, plain and simple. You’re right—they gave a mass murderer exactly what he wanted. That they would IMMEDIATELY broadcast it, before the bodies of the dead are cold and in the ground, is nothing short of supremely despicable.
Of course, just try and get them to play the 9-11 videos anymore.

Chavez Imposes “Socialist Formation” Classes
Anyone still in denial that Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez has been positioning himself as a totalitarian dictator might be interested to learn that his government will require workers to spend four hours per week in “socialist formation” classes.
Employers are required to form “Bolivarian Work Councils” to run courses on the job. The point of the classes is to speed the transition from economic freedom to slavery by teaching the official government version of Venezuelan history and “basic tools for analyzing reality, the environment, the role of the state and socialist scheme.”
The classes will start with public sector jobs, then be imposed on the crippled remnants of private business, after Chavez issues a new law by decree that will establish reeducation guidelines.
Reeducation. Chavez’s fellow socialist Pol Pot was so fond of the concept, he built reeducation centers all over Cambodia:
Ordinary people were forced to march to agricultural reeducation centers all around the country. Families with sick members had to carry their sick members or drag them in their hospital beds. Because the Khmer Rouge were strict Maoists, they wanted to destroy all social divisions down to even the family unit. The Khmer Rouge wanted to purify Khmer society and bring the people back to the old way, before they were invaded by the west. Every one was put to work in the rice patties. Thousands died from overwork and malnutrition. Countless more were killed by the Khmer Rouge effort to eliminate all western influences.
If Chavez has something similar in mind for Venezuela (and Pol Pot is hardly the only precedent), the USA had better be sure not to put a stop to it. I’m sure the UN not to mention the Democrat Party would highly disapprove of such unilateral imperialism.

I hadn’t heard that.....Good for him to get some R & R.
It’s a shame so many won’t get to hear him.

THis is normal liberal lashing.
My wife went through a horrible fight with her ex. He convinced the kids left because she hated them, not because he attacked her when he was drunk. Long story why she didn’t get the kids. WOn’t go into that. But, she NEVER attacked her kids like this.

RUSH on Alec Baldwin:
“Verbal Violence” perpetrators.
1) Doesn’t know how if his daughter is 11 or 12.
2) He’s coming out there tomorrow, Friday, the 20th.
3) He called her on the 11th, so he doesn’t know what day it is.
4) Calls her a rude, thoughtless little pig.
5) It’s Wednesday, the 11th at 10:30 in the morning. Isn’t his daughter in school where cell phones aren’t allowed?

And let's not forget Alec Baldwin's other violent outburst.
From Wikipedia:
He was criticized by Jack Valenti, Rush Limbaugh, and Brit Hume for his appearance on Late Night with Conan O'Brien on December 11, 1998, eight days before President Bill Clinton was to be impeached. In an outburst that Baldwin later referred to as a "parody", he said that "if we were in another country... we would stone Henry Hyde to death and we would go to their homes and kill their wives and their children. We would kill their families".

Does some FReeper have direct access to Rush who can tell him to post a petition on his website calling for Reid’s resignation or censure?

So much for the post holocaust U.N. mantra "Never Again". But I guess that's not supposed to apply to socialist mass murder and genocide.
