Many Americans Miss Bill Clinton
Angus Reid Global Monitor ^ | April 20, 2007

Many adults in the United States long for the mandate of a previous head of state, according to a poll by Opinion Research Corporation released by CNN. 53 per cent of respondents miss former U.S. president Bill Clinton now that he has left the White House.

In the survey, 96 per cent of African-American respondents say they miss Clinton, while 50 per cent of White Americans say they are glad he has left.

Clinton—a Democrat and former governor of Arkansas—won the 1992 U.S. presidential election. His campaign was largely based on a condemnation of the economic recession of the early 1990s. In 1996, Clinton became the first Democrat to serve two terms as president since Franklin Delano Roosevelt, winning 49.2 per cent of all cast ballots and 379 electoral votes. Clinton’s last term in office was tarnished by his admission of an extra-marital affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky.

During his presidency, Clinton called the racial divide in the U.S. "America’s constant curse." In July 2001, Clinton decided to move into a new office in Harlem, a largely African-American neighbourhood in New York City. The president said on his first day at the office he would make Harlem his home, and explained: "What I’m going to do here is to try to help promote economic opportunity in our back yard, in our country and around the world."

In January, former first lady and current New York senator Hillary Rodham Clinton officially launched her bid for the Democratic Party’s nomination in the 2008 presidential election.

96% of blacks think that OJ’s innocent too. That kinda calls into question their ability to engage in *independent* thought on matters of politics and justice.

That picture of the young Clintons looks as if Bill is a Ventriloquist and Hillary a puppet.

Oh, the irony!!

No, people don’t miss Bill Clinton, people miss the cheerfulness in the media. All during the Clinton years the media was perpetually in a good mood. Everything was rosy. Sure< Clinton had his scandals, but the media always spun this as a just a rabble of Republicans doing their usual political stuff. The economy was great, only a few Americans were getting killed in terrorist attacks, everything was generally reported in a cheerful manner.

Contrast that to the instant it looked like Bush would win in 2000. The party was over as far as the media was concerned. Everything was sour, beginning with all the recount junk and how they covered for Gore. Ever since, the media has always put a dark spin on EVERYTHING. The economy is better than Clinton’s, but you would never see anyone suggest that “irrational exuberance” was a concern. Likewise, you never see any good news about Iraq. You never see any stories about heroic actions in Iraq or Afghanistan - never.

No, people do not miss Clinton, they are tired of the sour, wet blanket pall that the MSM continues to cast over the country. They remember that it was always sunny skies under Clinton according to the MSM. That is what they long for.

He spent most of his time whipping it out like it was the only lighter in a crack house. He taught some chunky girl how to play the skin flute and ruin a cigar. Yeah, I can see where people would miss a man like that.

How Can I Miss You (When You Won’t Go Away)

How Can I Miss You (When You Won’t Go Away)
(Dan Hicks)

I’ve talked to your mother and I’ve talked to your dad,
They say they’ve tried but it’s all in vain.
I’ve begged and I’ve pleaded, I even got mad,
Now we must face it, you give me a pain.

cho: How can I miss you when you won’t go away?
I keep telling you day after day,
But you won’t listen, you always stay and stay,
How can I miss you when you won’t go away?

Out of three billion people, why must it be me?
OhOh why, oh why won’t you cut me loose?
Do me a favor and listen to my plea
I’m not the only chicken in the roost.

Your never-ending presence really cramps my style,
I dream that it won’t always be the same.
At first I was attracted, but after a while,
Have you ever heard of a “hard to get” dame?”

I’m in my sixties, and I don’t remember those days at all.

I guess you’re supposed to focus on his face in that photo, but I always end up looking at his hands. They look like they are about 30 years older than his face. That’s what plastic surgery and Photoshop will do for you.

I gravitate towards the hands too. Those are some of the creepiest hands I've ever seen.
