I read another article that said the University tried to do something, but its hands were tied legally. Hopefully something will come out of this tragedy and it will be easier for institutions and companies to address this problem.

What should come out of this tragedy is that the basic notion of a "public institution" -- and the pernicious extension of that concept into private institutions -- should be eliminated permanently.

A private institution would have -- or should have -- been able to toss this loser out of school for any reason whatsoever.

Ditto. Some professors did speak out, but the law protects the guilty from the innocents, not the other way around. Same with the gun laws.

This is just to sad.
