Exactly what DOES it take to expell a student?
Madness. Utter madness.
I saw on tv that it got so bad with him that he wasn’t welcome in one of his classes and he had to have a tutor who was also very afraid of him.
Since when is going to college a “RIGHT”???? What about the rights of all the students who do the right thing and have to be around wackos and criminals. Anything for the tuition - grade inflation, tutors, coddling, etc.etc.etc.

Oh, it’s not that hard. I’m sure that if he had:
- described homosexuals using a word considered a slur,
- called a female basketball player a “nappy-headed ho,” or
- wrote an email quoting movie dialogue about skinning prostitutes (a protected class) as in the Duke lacrosse case,
then he would have been out on his ear in no time flat.
I don't know. Where I am assigned, this semester a student masturbated and ultimately ejaculated on a computer monitor, keyboard and mouse - in a *public* area. The student was charged with public lewdness.
Another student was 'caught' so to speak masturbating in a bathroom, and was leaving pornographic pictures in the stall afterwords. In several instances, he drew male genitalia on the walls of the stall.
Both of these students are back in class.
I've worked in higher ed locations for almost 20 years - this is new territory, things that have never occurred before.
My take - an increasing number of students have problems determining what is reasonable behavior. Why? Well, that's a whole 'nother question.
