NBC’s Anne Thompson Stumped By Chicken-And-Egg Puzzle
The Stiletto ^ | April 16, 2007 | The Stiletto

Broadcasting & Cable reports that veteran correspondent Anne Thompson will head up a newly created environmental beat as the chief environmental affairs reporter for NBC News, covering such topics as global warming and alternative fuels. The new beat, says Thompson, reflects consumers’ growing interest in such issues: "If you’ve gone to a magazine stand in the last two months, environmental issues have been a cover story everywhere, from Sports Illustrated to Town & Country. It’s the cover story on this month’s Vanity Fair."

Crack journalist that she is, Thompson has it exactly backwards: Stories about global warming and related topics have been “cover stories everywhere” because the MSM is interested in these topics. For all she – or The Stiletto – knows, readers turn the page or change the channel to avoid the never-ending barrage of stories on environmentalism, all restating the propaganda from Al Gore’s PowerPoint presentation. If this is the kind of analysis Thompson will bring to what the extremely complex scientific, geopolitical and economic issues inherent in coverage of environmental issues, she is too hopelessly biased or lacks the education (sorry, but a background in business reporting and a liberal arts degree doesn’t cut it on a hard science beat) to pull off her new assignment.

Since when have you seen 'hard science' on the nightly news... unless it's dealing with erection disfunction? They have an agenda... and teaching their audience science doesn't fit in it.

The presstitutes don’t even seem curious about the science.
