I heard the Governor's comments in the car on my way home, and I thought he was terrific.
I was shocked to come to the computer and see that he was being panned here.
I LOVED his introduction of the President. He didn't sound like a democrat at all! ;)

That’s what I thought too. I don’t really like the guy but he was really nice about the President.

I didn’t hear the Governor’s remarks but my husband said the Gov seems like a very nice, sincere man and thought he was a Republican cause he praised the President. Too bad he’s a Dem.

Quoting the Old Testament about anger and our Savior’s words on the Cross “My God, my God, why has thou forsaken me?” regarding despair. Natural emotions and appropriate here, but do not let go of the community, unified together to help the family members deal with the loss. Appealing directly to the students to work past this with the help of others.
Followed by remarks on the President’s leadership and how one of the hallmarks of a leader is comfort and consolation in hard times, and President Bush embraces those qualities.
A most excellent speech, not political.
