Quoting the Old Testament about anger and our Savior’s words on the Cross “My God, my God, why has thou forsaken me?” regarding despair. Natural emotions and appropriate here, but do not let go of the community, unified together to help the family members deal with the loss. Appealing directly to the students to work past this with the help of others.

Followed by remarks on the President’s leadership and how one of the hallmarks of a leader is comfort and consolation in hard times, and President Bush embraces those qualities.

A most excellent speech, not political.

Absolutely. It wasn't political at all, and I thought it had a spiritual depth that truthfully surprised me.

The President's didn't surprise me, but the Governor's did.
