I think the article should be taken with a grain of salt. One cannot call upon Buddha. He left.

God has a way of dealing with such apostasy, to wit:

With all due respect to the ladies, could THIS be what’s going on in America today? And whatever do you think could be the cause??

Isaiah 3:12
As for My people, children are their oppressors,
And women rule over them.
O My people! Those who lead you cause you to err,
And destroy the way of your paths.”

(Standing by for MASSIVE flames from the dark side – and probably more than a few from the light side as well for having the temerity to even bring this up.)

With Pelosi in the House and Hillary lined up to take the White House, welcome to the new America.

“He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.”

They may leave Him out, but His purpose stands sure.

Just remember, no matter what the issue, YOU ARE DEALING WITH LIBERAL ACADEMIA. Expect anti-Christian scenarios.

Heaven forbid they have someone familiar with the Gospel of Jesus Christ be part of this convocation. You know … the separation of State and Christianity as proclaimed in the constitution.

Did you get a load of that “poet”? African baby elephants? Coal mines? Kids starving in the Sudan? She came off as a raving lunatic with very bad hair.

but Jesus wasn't mentioned.

I caught about 30 seconds of this today on the radio. I heard the Governor discuss Jesus on the cross saying "Father forgive them for they know not what they do."

This should come as no surprise to anyone.

Jesus Christ IS Almighty God Incarnate, He IS the King of kings and Lord of lords, He said ‘before the world was, “I AM” and He is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, and ‘allah’ (mohammed) is still in the grave, buddha is still in the grave, all of the pretenders and posers are dead and in the dirt, except for ONE:

Jesus Christ, the Living Son of God, Who said ‘If you have seen Me, you have seen the Father’ and ‘The Father and I are One’, and His Name is above every name, and the ONLY Name worthy of being praised.

Jesus said that those who deny him on Earth, He shall deny before the Father, but those that confess Him before men, He shall confess before God the Father.

And those who were too timid, afraid, or ‘embarrassed’ or too concerned with being politically correct to speak the Name of Jesus Christ, will one day stand before Him and answer for their actions.

So sad that only the evangelical preachers say the word Jesus. And a few athletes.

I put the blame squarely on the Lutheran Minister. The other speakers were open and talked about their faith but this minister is the one that left out Christ. I also don’t see why people are offended by having a muslim speaker. Christianity is not the state sponsored religion and there’s no reason why a Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, or whatever can’t speak.

This is repulsive!

I agree, but not in the way you may think. There was a thread earlier today where many posters ripped apart the convocation. I predict that this thread will be just as full of religious bigotry and unnecessary rude remarks as well.

Have we sunk so low that people in mourning can't even gather for a convocation without the ultra-righteous indignation posse's showing up?

God bless and provide comfort for the victims, their families and friends, and all of us who mourn the loss of their loved ones in this senseless tragedy.

**”BUT NOT ONE EVANGELICAL CHRISTIAN PASTOR/PREACHER. NO INVOCATION OF THE NAME OF CHRIST JESUS,” the reader said. **

Or a Catholic priest? Virginia is a heavy Catholic area.

My son was born in Lynchburg at Liberty Baptist Hospital, how far is this from this university, why was Jerry Falwell or someone from his church not speaking?

Now if you had a LDS member there I am sure Jesus Christ would have been called upon as the primary source of healing and comfort!

A strange looking woman said that baby elephants are sad. I really didn’t understand what the hell she was talking about. That’s alright though. Neither did she.
