I think you might have missed the whole point of my reply to your post.

It happens, if I did I apologize. I think you mean well. The media is fishing for racism out of this and you are either taking the bait or feeding it IMO.

You wouldn't understand.

That's fine.

The last thing you can call South Koreans are “girly men.” Believe me. They are the toughest SOB’s on earth.

It’s an open forum. I don’t understand your point.

I am half Korean and my mom is devastated. She called me crying this morning. She said when she heard the murderer was Asian, she prayed he wasn’t Korean. AmericanInTokyo is absolutely 100% correct. Of course you wouldn’t understand this unless you are familiar with Asian culture. I’m only half Korean and I felt the shame. When I hear an American soldier commits a crime overseas, I feel the shame, too. When an American or Korean excels, I also feel the pride.

Thanks LG...

If you make an effort, you can understand these things, these phenomenont, though.

However it does take a little effort.

Of course it is an open forum here. This is just merely about trying to grasp that not all the people in the world think, or act as we Americans do. I was just relating the facts as I see them, as my gut tells me. You confirmed it.

Every Korean I know is in deep mourning and embarrassed shock. And they had nothing to do with it. Some wont even reply to my e mails, even though I know they are getting them. The whole mood is one of national shame it would seem, that one of their nationals would do this overseas to other people (in fact, he killed people from many different nations it seems). The scale of it is unfathomable.

Really!! You should do a little research on the ROK brigade and division posted to Nam in 68 and I think anyone of those soldiers could make you a “girly man”. They are one tough people.

The character of Borat is more true than you think. It has never ceased to amaze me the unconciously racist remarks that have come from the mouths of Japanese/Colombian/Arab/Russian colleagues.

"Asians" are not an ethnic group. Spend time in Asia and actually talk to REAL Japanese/Chinese/Korean/Filipino folks (not just students) and THEN get back to me.

BTW: Anime is for nerdy white boys who want to pick up Japanese chicks. Trust me, I know. ;-)

Koreans are the most ethnically homogeneous people on earth, per genetic studies done over the past 100 years.

For the record, I am a white American of Polish and Italian ancestry. I am not married, but have dated women of Persian, Peruvian, Colombian, East Indian, Korean, Egyptian, Palestinean, Argentinean (Italian/Lebanese parents), and Brazillian women. Such things blow the mind of my provincial colleagues from other nations.

I also find it retarded how many folks (not so much my generation, but older), who refer to themselves as "Italian" or "Polish" even thought they are three generations in this country, and don't speak the language. I have spent time with folks from Poland and Italy (sorry mom, prefer the former to the latter), and NONE of them would consider me to be their nationality.

If you do do a search look up White Horse and Dragon. They got the area of Vietnam where we wre loosing a couple hundred GI’s a week and within a few months their losses went to almost ZERO. The NVC and Cong were scared shitless of the ROK soldiers. No messing around, and Geneva conventions were not in their lexicon of ROE.

Read the article. Yes, any "male" who is "afraid" of being stereotyped because of something like this is a girly-man. "I'm afraid!!!! Stop it!!! Someone make a law about this!!! "Help me, Hillary, help me!!!"

Yes, girly-men.

Nice job, you are good at being a “G-M”. I’m curious as to where in the article you see “afraid” mentioned. Perhaps the pink glasses you have on are allowing you to see a brave new world. And Hillary???? Sheesh.
