I read the following from Little Green Footballs:
"Apparently, South Korean student Seung Hui Cho signed his note, Ismail Ax, and also wrote those words on his arm. All other signs right now point to this being a deranged individual with a history of odd behavior (not a sudden jihadi), but this is very curious."
Hotair.com suggests that he meant only to refer to a story by an author named Ishmael:
You probably already know this, but in James Fennimore Coopers story The Prairie, the settler Ishmael Bush, who is attempting to escape from civilization, sets out across the prairie with two key tools, a gun and an axe. Each has a symbolic meaning. The axe which can either kill or provide shelter stands for both creation and destruction. Given that the VT killer was an English major, might this be the likely meaning of the words on his arm? Just my two cents.
And its widely reported that Cho's writings freaked out one of his English professors. Smoking Gun had one on-line. I read it.
What immidiately stood out was some of the strange language Cho's character used: All of the characters have typically American names, yet "John" uses some strange epithets. The story is basically about a step-son's unexplained rage at a step-father whom he accuses of killing his real father, and (falsely), of molesting him. The father a "fat piece of pork," and "McPork." (The latter is a mockery of his unusual, and unexplained, last name, McBeef.)
It's only weak evidence, I know, but it's just so straaaange...
lady macbeth harmed others to fulfill blind ambition ....
What’s John’s ambition?
An interesting, perhaps relavant, perhaps irrelevant tid bit, is that when you set aside the borrowed-from-Chinese writing systems , both Korean and Japanese are linguistically similar to Central Asian Turkic Languages. The actual words, with the exception of borrowed Chinese ones for numbers and a few other odd words, are utterly unlike those of Chinese or any other East Asian language.
None of which excuses what he did. And none of it explains the dismal lack of help provided by therapy - up to and including a recommendation for hospitalization.
You can become very proficient with firearms without being in the military or police
what if the antecedent were the charlatans?
I’ll paint the murderer as a Ritalin or Prozac taker.
Speculation. Let’s wait until we have some facts.
He's a South Korean. Ismail is not his real name. He use it because his name is very hard to pronounce, especially for Indonesian people. His real name is Cho Seung Hoo ....... or is it Jo Sung Ho?

There are 96 pictures in eldarossell's. Chu is second to last. Last is a lady with her head covered?
He separated himself from the infidels at Virginia Tech.
He performed an honor killing on his woman before setting accross campus to act out his planned jihad attack
He chained the doors to the building to make sure his victim count was as high as possible
He shot his victims systematically as if he had trained well for the action
He erased the serial numbers on the weapons to hinder any attempt to connect other members of a cell to the weapons used.
When cornered by the enemy, he killed himself to avoid interragation to reveal the members of his cell.
He shot himself in the face to inhibit identification and give his accomplice (s) ample time to leave the area by way of association.
Left a cryptic note with only a casual reference to Islamic reference to only mildly suggest jihad, but not to connect the local Mosque and trainers to himself, thus buying time for future attacks. This way, he gives encouragement to future recruits of his success, puts a doubt in local authorities about motive, and gives an alibi to others if necessary.

What amazes me about his writings is that they don't sound at all like the products of someone his age. Also, he seems to have drawn on the very worst of modern American pop culture: trashy rock lyrics from Guns n Roses, gratuitous but unimaginative and repetitive profanity, etc.
We should not be surprised if in the next few days or few weeks a muslim terrorist group, including AL Qaeda, may adopt this guy as one of their owns.
I suggest some good stretching exercises before you reach that far. Helps prevent pulled muscles.

“you dont have a kill ratio of 68% (32 dead, 15 wounded; 32 divided by 47 = 68%) without training..this guy knew what he was doing with a gun..”
From what I have heard he was never farther away from a victim than 10-15 feet. I can hit a target at that distance.
As I pointed out on another thread, had two or even one student waited until he was looking away, charged him while screaming like a banshee, they most likely could have taken the little puke down.
But we have a society of trained cowards who mostly have never held a weapon.
But what is the likelihood that a Korean immigrant living in the DC metro area and going to school at VA Tech would have any connection with or knowledge of a member of a medical faculty on the Turkish coast of the Black Sea?
Now for a curious coincidence, a search for Ismail Ak also turns up Ismael, A.K., and that on a Korean webpage devoted to Chemical Engineering and biochemical engineering, as one fo the authors of the second listed paper. The first listed paper was the Masters Thesis of one G.H. Cho.
(To see it Google “Ismail Ak” Korea. Which search turns up no connection
between your Turkish psychiatrist and Korea other than papers of his showing up in bibliographies that also cite journals with Korea in their name.)
Curious?
