Markell said Cho was "a clean-cut college kid," and the transaction was entirely legal under Virginia law. "He was as cordial as could be, and there was nothing unusual in his manner that suggested any thing wrong," Markell said. Markell said he was not present when Cho bought the gun, but that he had produced a state driver's license and an immigration card. He was or wasn't present?

Clueless Drive by/MSM idiots. They know nothing about guns and nothing about human nature. Yet they present themselvces as an authority on both!

OK, so the gun was purchased legally over a month ago.
First question - what gun control law would have kept this guy from getting it without keeping someone with no criminal intent from getting it?
Second question - why did the perp file off the serials? You know the gun shop didn’t sell it that way!

Will we hear of how, from whom, and for how much someone bought a vehicle later used in a multiple-fatality car wreck? (And if not, why not?)

I want to know where Mohammed Atta bought his Koran. I want to know where Andrea Yates bought the bathtub she drowned her kids in. Where did Cary Stayner buy the knife he murdered four women with?

Well, I first heard the information about the Roanoke store and the name Cho here on Free Republic yesterday (via black-rifles.com), though it hadn’t been confirmed.

"I feel terrible about this," Markell told ABC News at his store today, which is part gun shop, part pawn shop on the outskirts of Roanoke. Why? Dude, it's not your fault that this happened. There's no need for a guilty conscience.
No one can predict what someone's going to do.

He bought it on March 13th, so “cool-down” periods are clearly meaningless.

“Under Virginia law, state residents can only buy one handgun in any 30-day period, suggesting Cho bought his second weapon after April 13 or sometime over the weekend.”
Hey, Fast Eddie Rendell, Take Note!!!
The “one gun a month” law you think is a panacea to gun violence, worked really, really good here! Right?!

I used to have an FFL and sold guns. When I did, I “think” that I remember only being allowed to sell guns and ammo to a US citizen and resident of the STATE to which I was licensed to do business in. If this guy was not a citizen and legal resident of the State of Virginia, this gun shop owner is in violation of Federal and State gun laws (I think”).

Guess it wasn’t a “Saturday Night Special”.
Glad to see ABC has a consultant. But he should be from Truth in Media not the FBI.
This is going to go on and on and the Second Amendment will be in the cross hairs until the event is eclipsed by another tragedy.
Each year more and more generations of Americans are being “educated” into believing that there is a direct equation between guns and crime and the only way to eliminate crime is to eliminate guns - illogical as it may seem.
But the leftist politicians and media have an agenda which in not tied into the elimination of crime by getting rid of guns. That’s just an effective red herring. There REAL agenda is to ASSURE the sheeple who comprise the American public remain pliable, defenseless stooges while the leftists incrementally dismantle our Constitution and rights and convert America into a clone of a typical socialist western degenerate European nation.

The story implies his immigration card was current, I wonder if that is accurate?
