“The trend does not seem to be Mr. Giuliani’s friend at the moment...”

Seems to me that considering the non-stop Rudy bashing that’s been occurring over the past few months, these number aren’t bad at all. When reviewed against the previous polls from these pollsters, Rudy’s number went up on Rasmussen and Gallup and stayed even on Time. It went down on CNN and ARG, and there’s nothing to compare the LA Times poll to. BTW, a poll not included in the post but listed in RCP is the (4/9 to 4/12)CBS News poll which has Rudy up on McCain by 47% to 25%. Not bad for someone who's slipping.

A deferments by design was special treatment.

Once again, law clerk was not on the list of positions covered by the deferment in question.

Stop beating a dead horse and move on, unless you’re aware that there are documents out there that suggest that he never received a deferment....

You're a trip. You try to make this into a bogus document matter - and then whine and stomp your feet when it is pointed out that Rudy should not have been eligible for the deferment in question. That is well documented from long ago.

You just don’t get it. It was a LEGAL deferment. It was up to the local draft board to decide whether a deferment was warranted or not. You may not like the reason for it, but that’s your problem.

READ MY LIPS, the deferment did not eliminate Rudy’s exposure to the draft, it only deferred it. Once his deferment expired, he was randomly assigned a draft number and placed back in the draft for ONE YEAR. His assigned number was never reached so he was never called up. End of story. I’ll be moving on, and I suggest you do too.

"Rudy Giuliani's lead in the polls has started slipping, putting struggling Sen. John McCain within striking distance in the Republican presidential race - but only if Fred Thompson or Newt Gingrich jumps in, a new poll shows. "

CONFIRMING, YET AGAIN, WHAT SOME OF US HAVE BEEN SAYING ALL ALONG, FRED THOMPSON'S ONLY ROLE IN THE RACE IS TO HELP MCCAIN.

All those so anxious for Fred Thompson to get into the race are only helping McCain, and subsequently Hillary.

If you plan to vote for Fred Thompson, you ARE voting for McCain.

The only reason for FT to be in the race is to split the conservative vote and help McCain. Some of us have been saying this from day 1 and there is more and more confirmation of it.

And if McCain will be the R nominee, you can say hello to Pres Hillary.

Keep repeating the Dem talking points... and follow Hillary’s lead. The Clintons are doing everything to take Rudy out, because he is the only one who is a threat to Hillary’s ambition to be President of the USA.

Rush said this:

“But we’re gearing up for this election, and if you don’t think that in the Drive-By Media and the Democrat Party, if you don’t think 2008 is all about the Clintons getting back in the White House, you’ve got another thing coming. I’m going to tell you as we sit here today, there is an 80% chance that Hillary Clinton will be the next president of the United States, if you look at the way things are falling out right now. They’re trying to take out Rudy Giuliani. Guess what? Rudy’s a “draft dodger” now. Did you see the story over the weekend? Well, Clinton was a draft dodger so they got Rudy. Rudy’s a draft dodger. Whatever was said about Clinton, they’re going after it. Rudy is a draft dodger. Rudy is a philanderer.

Whatever it is, they’re doing everything they can to take Rudy out. “
