Yesterday, President Clinton outlined his proposals for more stringent, federal gun licensing requirements.

His proposals include:

* prohibiting non-citizens from buying guns; * requiring proof of residency, including photo id. and something like a utility bill in the buyers name... similar to what is required for a drivers license; * making cop killer, or Teflon coated, armor piercing bullets illegal; * and requiring child safety locks on the weapons of all Federal Officials to prevent these guns from ever winding up in the hands of children.

I applaud the President's proposals, and I will support them any way I can.

I only hope that he is right, and that Congress is finally ready to recognize that the vast majority of Americans want more gun control.

And they didn’t tag Kamal a terrorist until 10 years later when the shooter’s daughter fessed up.
Law enforcement was so focused on gun control, they chose to accept the bogus cover story initially given.

“Cop killer, or Teflon coated, armor piercing bullets”?

Hell, they’ve never existed, any more than “bullet proof vests” do.
What Rudy wanted to ban includes all reasonable hunting calibers. Was Rudy too ignorant to be aware of this, or just dishonest? How about both? Anyone who parrots Sarah Brady sure doesn’t deserve the presidency.

Great find. Too bad he didn’t correctly identify the problem as Islamofascism — he could have proposed citizen-safety-locks on terrorists.

Instead, a terrorist act was used as an argument to further infringe upon the rights of law-abiding citizens. It reminds me of a Mark Twain quote:

We should be careful to get out of an experience only the wisdom that is in it - and stop there; lest we be like the cat that sits down on a hot stove-lid. She will never sit down on a hot stove-lid again - and that is well; but also she will never sit down on a cold one anymore.

~Mark Twain, Pudd’nhead Wilson’s New Calendar, Following the Equator, 1897

Rudy was fighting big inner city chaos, a far different problem from POTUS fighting terrorism. And you know it.
