It seems the Massacre at VA Tech (where I went to school briefly) was premeditated. The reasons are clear in the latest reports. First off the man took a gun to confront his girlfriend, who was more than likely trying to get out of sufficating relationship (I have seen this pattern before, but with less violent results). When he did not get what he wanted and an RA came to deal with the commotion the man pulled his gun and killed the girlfriend and RA. This means the man planned the confrontation and brought the gun with him.
The second act was also premeditated since the man came with guns and clips and the ability to chain the doors (when I was there there were no chains even wrapped on the doors to close them). Finally there is reporting that the bomb threats in the prior weeks were tests of the response time of the authorities. Combined with the news the man was a 24 year old from China shows a combination of military training (not OUR military lefties) and planning.
What really worries me is if this was a test for other attacks. If the man was testing College responses then the key would be to make this look like anything BUT a terrorist attack. I am not making the claim here this was terrorist related, but the man did not seem to be looking for his girlfriends lover, he seemed to be out trying to kill anyone he ran across. A perfect diversion for a test run would be a lovers quarrel. And ending it in a suicide negates the ability to get to the bottom of his motives. Of course violent jealousy is not uncommon, and more so in male dominated societies like those in Asia and the ME. In those places killing women is like throwing away property. But something is not right here. For someone who was in the emotional throws of jealousy, the attack shows signs of careful planning and cold execution. The two characteristics do not mix. Careful planning and cool execution implies a lot of self control and discipline, things which are in complete opposition to an out of control act of rage.
Update: It seems I am not the only one who thinks this was a well planned out massacre (H/T Flopping Aces):

The Religion of Peng.
Engineering is hard.
He brought chains to lock the doors so no one could get out.
Yeah, it was premeditated.
“premeditated” = NS
I have always said that squads of gunmen dispersed across the country to commit “random” shootings would be a diabolically effective means of terrrorizing our open society—no nukes, bombs, or military training required. Remember the hysteria caused by the DC Sniper? You couldn’t pump gas from Boston to Richmond without bobbing your head. Imagine that times 20.
Trained terrorist... absolutely
Post #46, apparently from a gun dealer, as cited by Flopping Aces:
“Well, I’m screwed. They found a receipt in the gunman’s pocket indicating that he bought the gun from me in March. ATF is at my shop right now. See you later, I’m on my way to the shop right now.”
That means that the ATF know who the gun owner is. But apparently they are sitting on this information.
The gun dealer goes on to say that the person in question had a Green Card, which makes the sale legal.
This dude was cold ~ very cold ~ he used his girlfriend like a kleenex.
The targets weren't people to him ~ but may well have been seen as his opportunity to get to Paradise and have at those 72 virgins.
THIS IS NOT A TEST. Here you have the possibility that AlQaida is demonstrating that not all their terrorists are swarthy men with heavy beards.
Couldn’t it be both?
As America mourns, somewhere in a foreign land there are people celebrating.
Well, there’s more questions than just that. Like:
1. Why the two-hour gap?
2. What’s site #2 got to do with site #1, if jealousy is the motive?
3. Why weren’t cops everywhere on campus after the first episode?
Anyone?
Crazy people can have premeditation in their evil deeds.
It would not surprise me if that were not true.
I have a sneaky feeling that the rop will turn up somewhere in the story.
Thanks for the addition....
The killer knew about guns, knew how to use them and how to get them. Maybe someone helped him buy what he needed....somebody who knew he was wasn’t allowed to possess a firearm but the price was nice.
We will likely not know all the “facts” of this story for some time, if ever. People quoting something they read on a blog is not helpful, and not likely to be true, either. By the time the whole truth is known, the MSM will have scored all their policical points, and will have moved on to some other scandal they can saturate the airwaves with.
Most people have no experience with sociopaths. That's why they're so dangerous.
