President Hugo Chávez wants the private sector to invest in Venezuela, by arguing that the government is not at odds with businesses.

"Are you willing to invest in Venezuela? Here, we are. This government is not an enemy of Venezuelan businesses. We are ready to give them a stake, as we are doing it in different ambits."

"Nevertheless, domestic businesses should not lend themselves to attack their own homeland, as it was the case five years ago, to cause the collapse of the government and the democratic system," the ruler clarified.

Ahh, now I understand. It is domestic businesses that are causing the collapse of government and the democratic system. That must be why he wants more businesses to invest.

Tee hee, there will be investors, it is the nature of capitalism, they didn’t lose money 5 years ago, and there is all of that oil.

Wait and see, we have US companies drooling to do business in Cuba above board.

If Hugo needs capitalists to invest in his country, maybe he shoudl stop saying stuff like this:

“I am convinced that the path to a new, better and possible world is not capitalism, the path is socialism. “

“I have said it already, I am convinced that the way to build a new and better world is not capitalism. Capitalism leads us straight to hell. “

“So, Karl Marx could reflect, think and write looking towards a distant future. The same could be said of Rosa Luxemburg, but for us it can’t. The circumstances have changed terribly. We don’t have centuries in front of us. It could be decades at most that are left for the peoples of this planet to make a decision. Either we really change the social and economic order, we say now we must have a new, renovated socialism of the 21st century, or we decide that life finishes on this planet.”

“Oppositors have money, but I have the weapons to defend this revolution”.

“a third way, capitalism with a human face, trying to give the monster a mask...this mask has fallen to the floor shattered by reality”.

“all of this, the urban land committees, the endogenous growth nucleus, the ‘Into the neighbourhood’ mission, the Housing Mission... all of these are tools for the building of socialism, we must move away from capitalism”.

His money is running low.

Communists have a hard time understanding that without profit their funds keep running out.

The same way Russia does business.

Come in and spend all your own money building a business. And then we will seize it all if it becomes profitable.
