that law should be changed if indeed that is the Virginia law. the 2nd amendment does not extend to non-citizens, let’s get real here. I don’t care how pro-RKBA you are, a foreign national here on a visa should not be able to purchase a gun.

oh i agree, i just see there being a line or two in any legislation that is close to this incident extending to reaches further than the intent. not to mention i'm sure a lot of pork will be backloaded etc. ad nauseum. if there is one thing you can bet on, it's that politicians will use a terrible situation to their advantage. and you can bet there will be "tough on crime" touting cons and "tough on guns" touting libs behind a bill that starts ebbing away rights. i just hope i'm wrong.

Non-US citizens living in the United States, (if they have valid permanent residence status) in fact have the same normal US Constitutional Rights to purchase, own and keep arms guaranteed under the Second Ammendment, again, provided they have a Green Card, and there are no local or state laws that would forbid them to do the two things above (purchase, own and keep).

That is the current situation and reality.
