Non-US citizens living in the United States, (if they have valid permanent residence status) in fact have the same normal US Constitutional Rights to purchase, own and keep arms guaranteed under the Second Ammendment, again, provided they have a Green Card, and there are no local or state laws that would forbid them to do the two things above (purchase, own and keep). That is the current situation and reality.

Student visa people are not permanent residents, though. In fact, the student visas are not supposed to segue into permanent status, even though they aren’t tracked as well as they should be.

So, if it is illegal to possess guns while in the US on a student visa how can it be legal to buy guns while in the US on a student visa?
