Maybe you (and all the other posters) should stop acting as if an age group is the very same as a racial or religious group (funny how we can spout how bad Moslems are, but not college kids).
Everyone has been that age who ever reached 18; it is not a “group” per se to be discriminated against. I’ve been there myself, and I’ve seen it personally when it was “better” than now! And that’s not saying much. (Your quips about 40yo are true, but it is MORE true of 20yo right now as well as generally, and ironically, the 40yo are often vestiges of the beginning of the “immature” movement in society, who only learned hedonism per Dr. Spock.)
And if anything, the MSM loves alcoholic teenagers and tries to make them out to be cool and great.

Even if this is not a jihadi event, I think we would be safe to assume they are studying response patterns and will study the security enhancements which will follow.
To me, it’s not that there is no ID, but that there is ZERO from anyone about anything about him. No statements from kids saying they met him and “he was a real jerk,” or “wow, saw them together and he was a quiet kinda guy,” or anything.
Maybe it is to soon, maybe we are expecting something to fast, but several things do not add up. The girlfriend rumor has existed since early this morning but there are different, conflicting stories. Second, that zero has come out from students about this person ... nothing ..., and the reports of just how “planned” this seemed from the amount of ammo, chains, and possibly a bullent proof vest.
History is replete with jilted lovers .... but the magnitude of what has happened is very unusual for that type of serario.
Still, it could play out that that was the case. We’ll see, but it seems much more premeditated than that.
Bingo. This guy shot 60 people, so we’re talking 100+ rounds of ammo. This isn’t about an estranged girlfriend. That dog don’t hunt. This whole thing was coldly calculated. Muslim or not, this was a terrorist act.
This student was in one of the classrooms where the gunman entered and opened fire, shooting the professor and then methodically shooting students at random.
This student saved his life by crouching down behind an overturned desk. He said he say the shooter and thought he looked "serious."
This doofus talking head NEVER ONCE asked the student "WHAT DID THE SHOOTER LOOK LIKE? WAS HE ASIAN, WHITE, BLACK, MALE, FEMALE."
Stunning. To have an eye-witness account in front of you and not ask that all-important question.
The student went on to say he and a few other students ran to the door of the classroom after the shooter had left and held the door shut with their feet while they laid on their backs. He said the shooter returned, tried to push open the door and then shot threw the door, missing the students on the floor.
Where's this student now? Why isn't this interview being replayed?
Five to six hour drive from Washington, DC to Blacksburg depending on traffic. Coming from New York, I’d say that she flew down to Roanoke airport on one of CBS’ private jets and got a rental car there (or a car supplied by the local affiliate) before high-tailing it down to Blacksburg.

They need to make absolutely certain the shooter didn't exchange clothing with a victim. Doing otherwise would risk the lawsuit from hell.

The 1st shooting was simply a diversion..as every LEO in the county was on the other side of the campus while a mile away, the REAL carnage unfolded.
The presidents gonna' speak... and STILL... the shooter isn't ID'd! BTW... the 'official' term for what happened is....
