Is it just the radiation

Something to do with the way the signal waves interfere with the bee's natural homing navigational system...seems odd, but what the hell do I know.

A little while back, there was a similar "where are the bees going" thread on FR, and one poster suggested that the problem was that bees were "getting lost" after leaving the hives.

I'm wondering if there couldn't really be something to this. Isn't there some evidence that sonar from submarines interferes with the "navigational" abilities of underwater mammals?

Suppose, after responsible scientific investigation uncovered evidence that this _was_ the cause of the bee disappearances. Faced with the fact that bees are essential to crop pollination, would we give up crop production for cell phones?

Same thing happens to humans when they drive while talking on these cell phones.
