We thank You for providing for us a leader in President Bush who seeks to follow You, and we are particularly thankful that he has continued to be a strong advocate for the sanctity of life in an ever increasingly apathetic world. Lord, we ask for Your divine protection for him, because his stance for life and his moral clarity has made him the target for the arrows of the Enemy, and we ask that You shield him from all harm. We ask that You infuse him with strength and the courage it takes to lead us through troubled times. We ask that he might stay faithful in study of Your word and in prayer and that he might constantly seek wise counsel and listen for Your still, small voice as he makes each decision. We ask that he might feel Your presence daily, dear Lord, and that he and Laura both might feel the power of prayers that are lifted up on their behalf each day. Bless their lives and keep them from all harm, we pray.
Father, we continue to lift up each one of our soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines who are in harms way at this time, and those who are preparing to serve as well. We ask that You would cover them with a blanket of Your divine protection and shield them from danger. Give them comfort in these difficult times away from family and home, and give them wisdom and courage as they fight an evil foe. Lord, we continue to pray for victory over the terrorists who try to wreak havoc in the country of Iraq and destroy its government and its people, and we thank you for the incredible courage of the Iraqi Parliament who met today in defiance of the terrorist attack on them, and murder of their members. But most of all, Lord, we pray that Your Holy Spirit would sweep over that land and that many, in their newfound freedom, would come to know the Savior and would experience the only true freedom that is found in Jesus Christ. We pray for families of those who are serving, that they might have both patience and peace, and pray especially for the families of those who have fallen in battle, that they would be comforted and would know that their loved one has sacrificed for a just and noble cause and for the protection of the American people.
Finally dear Lord, we pray for this nation, asking that You would cleanse the deep stains of sin that are on us. We pray, dear Lord, that the dark blot of abortion would somehow, some day be ended, and we pray for courage for our legislators and judges to stand up for the inherent right of every American, no matter how helpless or how small, to live. Lord, we pray for the presidential election next year, that You would raise up the one who can lead us in morality and strength. Lord, place Your hand upon that individual, we pray, and grant them the power to do what is right and to rise above the crowd to lead this nation forward under Your law. We thank You, dear Father, that Your promises are true, and we have complete confidence in Your Sovereignty and in Your Love. We seek to be faithful in obedience to You, in prayer, in word and in deed, and ask all these things in the Name of the One who now sits at Your right hand, Jesus Christ. Amen!
May God bless all who pray in faith, believing!
Amen, Holy Lord. We agree with our sister in Christ that You will raise up for us the person of Your choosing, the one whose heart belongs to You. We need a leader who is able to hear Your voice with clarity and who is willing to stand together with the founding fathers of old to uphold the integrity and the very fiber of this nation, defending it from any attacks from without or within. Open the doors so that this person may enter them, Lord, and out of Your great compassion, please continue to bless America. In the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Amen and AMEN, Faith!
O Father our King,
We Bow Before You in Earnest Prayer, our God Who Rules in the Affairs of Men. We plead, our Master, for Your Intervention and Grace, for Revival of our Wayward and Sinful Land. We Cry Out to You, Lord of Glory and Love, that You would Grant us Leaders that are Godly Men. We Praise You for the Good Men You have Given, and would Plead for So Many, Many More.
We Ask for Thine Anointing to Rest Upon One who can Unite us Around the Love of our Land. Point Out to us, Papa-Father, the Good Man You would have us to See. We Intercede for our America, Praying for Thy Protection and Peace. Guard our Brother-President, O Lord, from the Venom that Follows him Day by Day. Help him to be Strong in Thee, and Comfort him with the Promises of Your Word.
Be Pleased, Your Grace, to Bless Your Beloved Israel. We Worship You, our Loving Savior, and Pray in our Jesus' Name, amen.
I’ve been thinking lately that we should have a worldwide day of prayer for our enemies. Think of how much we could change the course of the War on Terror, if the worldwide church joined hands on one day and prayed for our enemies. You seem to be good at his prayer thing. What do you think? We are commanded to pray for our enemies and those who persecute us. We know that prayer works. We should do this.
Amen
At the Catholic Prayer Breakfast this morning, President Bush once again strongly endorsed a “Culture of Life” . . . Our courageous President continues to walk the Christian talk!!!
Prayers up!
Amen.
Amen, Kitty. AMEN!
We are indeed commanded to love, and pray for our enemies.
I'm calling in the other prayer thread providers for their thoughts.
(I see you have had many skeptics on that thread).
Thank you for praying.
Thank you for your faithful prayer, fieldmarshaldj!
Amen.
Thank you for praying with us, Irish Rose!
I’m afraid I’d be little help in organizing such a thing, but I would participate.
You’re welcome. Could I ask a favor? My sister-in-law called earlier with a prayer request for her friend’s baby. The baby was born prematurely, and his kidneys have not been working for seven days. The doctors can do nothing more for him and will take him off life support if he doesn’t improve soon. Little Justin’s parents have been asking for prayer for him, and I hope you will all join in. Thank you.
Prayers for a miraculous recovery for the little baby.
