This is the first mainstream press article to say what's been said on Free Republic for months now.
Of course, the biggest reason that the prosecution is "fraught with problems" is that the prosecution was political from the beginning.
Let me or jazusamo or delacoert know if you want on the Haditha Marine Ping List. Things are about to get even more interesting!

Look at the Duke lacrosse rape case for a good example of that.

The atrocity in the Haditha case is the way the Marines were treated. Trying to appease Murtha by hanging Marines out to dry is total Horse Hockey.

In Iraq the Marines call it “circle talking”. The Iraqi’s talk in circles making no sense and lie out their a$$es. When you call them on it they just change to story “B” and then when you call them on that they change to story “C” and so on. Makes me sick that these young men have had to go through this based upon unreliable witness statements that were bad from the get go.

BTTT. Too bad that they can’t see the forest for the trees and realize that these men did what they believed to be right. Thank God for Gen. Patreus’ new ROE so that hopefully no other Marine has do go thru this political BS.

Democrats Hater our Troops.
If Turda hadn’t convicted them in the beginning this would have ended with just an investigation and cleared.

BINGO!!
I am totally NOT suprised that the examination of the “crime scene” is a problem.
You are so right, RR, from the day this was reported, we Freepers were picking the case apart.

Very serious witness impeachment problems. The few “witnesses” they have possess a rich history of lying about US troops. And they contradict each other...

For the US government to allow wartime Marines to be used as political footballs by the pack of rabid ACLU lawyers they hired and sent to Iraq on this witch hunt is despicable beyond words.

In January, a team of prosecutors from Camp Pendleton went to Iraq and spent several weeks in Haditha interviewing witnesses and seeing the four houses that were assaulted following the roadside bomb attack that killed Lance Cpl. Miguel Terrazas of Texas.is it my imagination, or was the defense allowed 2 seconds in iraq because it was so dangerous?

Unlike the Hamdania case, where the victim's body was exhumed and examined by a forensic pathologist at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, there were no exhumations of victims in Haditha and therefore no forensic medical reports.i am so mad. just don't even ask why. yes, go ahead, ask why.
