Of course, the biggest reason that the prosecution is "fraught with problems" is that the prosecution was political from the beginning.
Let me or jazusamo or delacoert know if you want on the Haditha Marine Ping List. Things are about to get even more interesting!
Look at the Duke lacrosse rape case for a good example of that.
The atrocity in the Haditha case is the way the Marines were treated. Trying to appease Murtha by hanging Marines out to dry is total Horse Hockey.
It is easy to find yourself “fraught with problems” when you don’t have a case.
You’re right. Though as bad as the Duke case is, the Nifonging of our Marines is a million times worse. These men fought through Fallujah in ‘04. They were deprived of a heroes’ welcome on their return from Iraq, and they and their families have suffered beyond belief for the past year. And it won’t be over until this travesty comes to an end.
I have joy with the prosecution’s fraught.
bump
BTTT. Too bad that they can’t see the forest for the trees and realize that these men did what they believed to be right. Thank God for Gen. Patreus’ new ROE so that hopefully no other Marine has do go thru this political BS.
Some suggestions...
If anyone has contact information for CNN and other outlets, please feel free to post.
I must respectfully disagree. There is no evidence that the USMC prosecutors have withheld evidence or misrepresented the evidence. There is no evidence that the Haditha prosecutors (as opposed to Murtha) acted unethically.
The case is weak, to be sure. That doesn't mean that the prosecution shouldn't have brought it. If they had reasonable cause to believe a crime had been committed, they had an obligation to bring this prosecution. The evidence certainly is strong enough to meet that minimal standard.
Instead, it appears that the system is functioning as it should - the Haditha Marines' attorneys are earning their pay.
End of case.
I also noticed that all 24 were repeatedly referred to as "civilians" again. I thought it was already proven that a large number of them were terrorists.
You know I am crazy for you when you post the links! Now that we know the baby daddy is solved, the news might actually get serious again.
Sounds just like the demonrats.
Exactly! Where is John McCain? Has he made any statement regarding their interrogations? According to his definition these Marines were tortured.
On second thought, his was the "Terrorists Bill of Rights"
When I said "Nifonging", I didn't mean the JAG prosecutors per se. I meant Murtha and his minions, the raft of leaker(s), including "senior Marine officials". I note that the leaks have stopped (until now) since Lt. Gen. Mattis ordered an IG investigation.
I have no reason to think that JAGs, for the defense and prosecution, are acting other than honorably.
Democrats Hater our Troops.
If Turda hadn’t convicted them in the beginning this would have ended with just an investigation and cleared.
Pray for W and Our Marines
That is the best description I’ve seen: “circle talking”. After reading a lot of interviews with Iraqi’s, the things they say, how they are described saying it, etc. are pretty unbelievable. Reading the interviews with this particular set of Iraqi “witnesses” conjures up the same sense of circle talking.
BINGO!!
I am totally NOT suprised that the examination of the “crime scene” is a problem.
You are so right, RR, from the day this was reported, we Freepers were picking the case apart.
