Both Sen. Hillary Clinton and Sen. Barack Obama said they would not participate in a presidential debate sponsored by Fox News Channel, throwing the event in jeopardy. The two senators joined former Sen. John Edwards, who announced on Friday he would not participate in the debate, one of four being held by the Congressional Black Caucus Institute.
The Congressional Black Caucus contracted with Fox to co-sponsor two of its debates -- one Democratic and one Republican -- and gave the two others to CNN.
But now the top three Democrats in the race have said they will not participate in the Democratic debate co-sponsored by Fox, which was scheduled for Sept. 23 at the Fox Theater in Detroit.
A spokesman for Obama, who is a member of the Congressional Black Caucus, told ABC News he would decline, saying "CNN seems to be a more appropriate host."

At least any pretenses that the media is unbiased are gone.
And these people want face down our adversaries in the world?
Oh boy...
They'd love it.
The fact that all of these so-called dem hopefuls don't even have that much guts makes it crystal clear that absolutely none of them are suitable.
We don't need cowards in the White House.
In spite of 9/11 Republicans/conservative/Christians should have demanded Mrs. Clinton come up on the myriad felony charges with made the tip of the iceberg of her criminal career.
Instead when the MSM told us Americans were returning back their churches we just felt so safe and secure from the evil OUTSIDE the USA!!
"SUCKERS!!!" laughed the charlatans.
Fox would have put the candidates at a serious disadvantage: they would have had questions from both liberals and conservatives. How dare they? Think of it like this: Now Fox can show reruns of “Gilligan’s Island” and get higher ratings than they otherwise would have received by televising the Democrats’ “debate”.
Good. Much less exposure to spout their socialist agendas. Refusing to appear on the most popular cable news network is political suicide if you ask me. Meanwhile, the Republican candidates can take the opportunity to reveal their higher standards.
“We don’t need cowards in the White House...”
Because we have plenty of them in the current House and Senate, that’s for sure!
What a bunch of LOSERS the ‘Rat candidates are. All empty suits with the exception of ‘The Beast’ who is pure evil, through and through.
Does this mean that the other news networks are the opposite of Fox News? They don’t want to answer the “rabid Republican” questions from Fox. We want softball questions from the left!!! (and we want to know them in advance)
Obama is afraid of just mouthing mushy platitudes and becoming “mortal” by having to give a “substantial” answer. And Hitlery is dumber than a box of rocks when having to think on her feet and not get the questions “leaked” to her ahead of time.
When Clinton stated she would participate in the Fox “Debates” before she stated she would not, I thought it was a lie as this woman won’t “Debate” period.
She will participate only in carefully scripted events choreographed to her favor, therefore if she states she will participate in a “Debate” at any other forum, that too is another bald face lie.
The wrong people run the Rep Party; we need people with guts to stand up tall.
Hillary would oppose any venue that would not allow her to receive the questions in advance or submit her own questions.
She is not going to open herself up to answering any unscripted questions, if she can get out of doing so.
Everything that Obama, Edwards and the Moveon crowd are doing to push Clinton to the left and to force a protracted primary campaign is good for the GOP for the general election.
Let them tear each other apart for months and months. This is the last thing that the Clinton people wanted. She may get the nomination but it won’t be worth much because she’ll never be able to reclaim the center.
BTTT...
CNN is far more imperfect than Fox.
Pubbies should avoid CNN. This needs to be answered.
