If so called moderate muslims don’t start doing something, there will be no moderates left.

“Get back to me when you leave Islam, Mr. Jasser.”

I do not believe in Islam, but this sort of thing doesn’t ecnourage sound minded Americans to stand up to tyranny like this man just did. Were all Germans and Japanese Americans sympathetic to their governments during WWII?

This person is an American, period. One who wishes to publically fight for the freedom of America, not the Islamic agenda which he perceives as wrong and threat to his and our way of life. The mere fact he is standing up puts his life in jeapordy for you, so stop being ignorant.

I hope the “John Does” sue the butts off these imams for tarnishing their reputations when they are finished.

Many here, along with your’s truly, have pledged to help with their legal fees if they decide to take the plunge.

During a teleconference, made the week following the November 20, 2006, US Airway Flight 300 and obviously for public consumption, flying imam Omar Shahin indicates, in his own words, they were spoiling for an incident:
It will be not one case, it will be many cases. One, in the name of the federation, one in the name of the imams themselves personally, one, in the name of the Islamic Centers we belong to. So it will be many, many, many cases, because that's what we cannot tolerate in this country any more, to single us out of the passengers every once in a while...we cannot tolerate this anymore. We, like others, go through the security, like everybody else, nobody has the right after that to single us out... Second, if they don't trust the security, this is their problem, not our problem."
Want to hear the actual audio and another clip of him? Go here.

I doubt that - their identities are masked, their reputations are not suffering any damage. They owed the Imams no duty of any kind as fellow passengers and naturally have every right to point out what they perceive as unsafe conditions on the flight to the cabin crew. As such, their inclusion in the suit is meritless, and will be dropped ASAP.

It's not like someone could choose whether or not to be German or Japanese. Sooner or later you have to ask: Just how much evil will you witness on behalf of an organization or movement before you decide you will no longer be a part of it? How much carnage and oppression does a god have to be responsible for before you decide that that god is an ass and can send you to hell if need be, but you won't pray to it?

Of course, that's easy for me to say since I won't be targeted for death by lunatics should I decide to change religions or abstain from religion.

I have been reading Jasser for a couple of years. He is correct in standing up against CAIR, but his life is no more on the line than anyone else’s. I have discussed this issue many times and this is what I believe:

Islam in any form whatsoever is incompatible with our Bill of Rights and our Constitution. It is a dangerous ideology. There are those who wish to support the so-called moderates, which is only somewhat helpful because supporting them does not call for reformation or secularization of Islam. A dual approach must be taken, which means that it is absolutely necessary to shine a light on Islam and the life of Muhammad. Islam does not hold up well when scrutinized.

Your analogy about Germans and Japanese is not really applicable. Islam is a belief system. One cannot necessarily help his or her nationality, and most assuredly, one does not choose one’s race.

It is never wise to use ad hominem attacks in a debate.

“imams” and “American values” don’t belong in the same sentence, IMHO.

Can’t the “Flying Imams” just become the “Hidden Imams” and retire from public view?

“Can’t the “Flying Imams” just become the “Hidden Imams” and retire from public view?”

Nope, not in their world-wide game plan.
