A proper Easter Egg hunt is held outdoors, rain or shine! (I'm not into counting eggs........or crawling around for missing ones.)

On the radio today, there was a very nicely done program on Easter and the Passover. One story of interest was the history of the Capitol Easter Egg Roll that was initiated by Dolly Madison in 1816. It was held on the Capitol lawns outside of congress on Monday after Easter Sunday. The members of congress were so upset by the crushed egg shells and the odor of the decaying eggs that they passed a law banning the celebration.

They haven't changed.

No, they haven't changed.

Squared-Away Marine

Dateline:  Washington, DC

Last Tuesday, as President Bush got off the helicopter in front of  the White House, he was carrying a baby piglet under each arm.

The squared away Marine guard snapped to attention, saluted,  and said, "Nice pigs, Sir."

The President replied,  "These are not just pigs - these are authentic  Arkansas Razorback Hogs.   I got one for Senator Hillary Clinton and one for Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi."

The squared away Marine again snapped to attention, saluted, and said, "Excellent trade, Sir!"

Thanks, Seadog....I "borrowed" it.

No way, BIGLOOK. I grew up in the neighborhood of the Ambassador Hotel here in Los Angeles. The Hotel had a perfect long, gently sloping lawn on the Wilshire Blvd. side (entrance) and there was a traditional Easter Egg Roll... don’t know when the last one was held, must be many years by now...:((
