Always up and inquisitively moving around
Yet mysteriously absent whenever there's an errant late night sound
Also the first to take on any dangerous unanswered challenge

Regardless of where, or upon whose Territory it might infringe
Pretty Ones, Little Ones and Big Ones and their Things are not Off Limits
Especially when there are so many Forbidden Toys and Places and Exhibits

For a silky Specter whose curiosity and mobility have never been tame
Moving like the fog across Rooms and down carpeted and hard wood Halls
Making even less noise than spiraling leaves in the "Fall"
While dashing and deftly leaping to be centered in a Window Frame

Only to disappear completely in the wink of an eye
If you are a Kitten's Humans, you need not ask "Why?"
For the answer is contained within gentle smiles and sighs
