Colorado's Sen. Salazar Splits with Democrats on Iraq Funding

1st term Senator says war funding should not be cut

Colorado Senator Ken Salazar is breaking with Democratic party leadership, saying Congress should not cut funding for the war in Iraq while U.S troops are still there.

Salazar, who is viewed as one of the more moderate Democrats in the Senate is also criticizing President Bush, saying the president has worsened "the extreme partisan divide" on the Iraq War issue by questioning Democrats' support for the troops.

On Friday, Salazar released the text of a letter he sent Bush and key Senate Democrats, which said -quote- "I do not believe that we can or should cut funding for our troops in Iraq or Afghanistan while we anticipate that our troops will be in harm's way."

Salazar is a first-term Democrat who often stakes out independent positions on major issues.

He says Bush and Congress must find common ground on Iraq so they can also address other key issues.

Colorado Senator Ken Salazar is breaking with Democratic party leadership, . . . . Salazar is also criticizing President Bush

Sounds like somebody trying to have it both ways. Bipartisan cowardice!

Well that’s good to hear. Nation before party, I’d say.

Oh baloney Salazar.

Actions speak louder than words so ask your fellow dumpacraps why they are so hot to flee in cowardice.

Of course, Salazar is lost in the ozone. He’s the one who called James Dobson “The Anti-Christ.”

Probably 25% of Colorado’s economy is federal/DoD. He knows by whom his bread is buttered.

“So they can address other key issues.”

1. Ban light bulbs.
2. Register and confiscate all law abiding citizens guns.
3. amnesty for illegals.
4. get a demorat elected to the White House.
5. Tax us to death for our own good.

I’m sure there are a few I’m leaving out.

The Democrats are giving aid and comfort to the enemy: the definition of treason. They are undermining our troops by announcing their surrender date, which emboldens the enemy including regimes such as Syria and Iran, which is providing weapons to kill our troops. In war, any objective less than victory is treason. We should all remember the Democrats if and when there are more 9/11’s in the U.S., resulting in the death of hundreds of thousands of Americans by nuclear, chemical or biological warfare, and the destruction of our economy. Let’s remember their names, and try them for treason for which the punishment will be death by hanging.

.....Tonto has his finger extended into the air to tell him which way the wind blows....

What he discovered was that the wind is blowing in two directions but the primary direction is from the Bush.

Talking out of both sides of his mouth he ia acting in the proper manner.

Speaking of fingers in the wind, I’ll use mine to count:

Hagel abandons pursuit of victory.

Lieberman does not. Now, neither does Salazar, and Nelson (D,FL) is wavering.

The Maine RINOs may be the Democrats only chance, and I think they will hold firm.

If the GOP makes it all about the pork, and strips it away, Pelosi won’t be able to get support for a bill in the House. She bought those votes.

I predict that when all is said and done, there will be two bills offered. One will be non-binding and set a timetable. The other will be clean and will fund the troops. Both will pass.

With Salazar saying this, and Obama just 4 days ago also saying he’ll support a clean funding bill after a veto, it really does look like America and victory may win the day on this matter.

The democrats have no support for the troops so Bush was merely noting the obvious.
