Wouldn't you love this in your backyard?
Yes, I would.
They look a helluva lot better than the sight of my country whoring itself to foreign energy.

Ohhhh! You want the Foreign Oil Whore Eradicator Energy package. Here's a representative view of what it will look like for millions of square miles with the FOWEE package. That'll require a 10%deposit of $7 Trillion. (=^0)

That tower is about 300 feet tall, the blades weigh about 30 tons, the nacelle is the size of a small bus and weighs about 50 tons. The blade tips are moving at about 150 mph at 20 RPMs. And occasionally oops, the fire department ladders don't reach that high....LOOK OUT BELOW!!
"Hello? Yeah, I'm gonna need another one of those Foreign Oil Energy Whore Eradicators. The one in my backyard burned up. Excuse me? No, it should be easy to find. It's the 300 foot wind turbine with the 2 alarm fire at the top."

Close to the windy city? Great. You’re going to start that voluntary effort to build these in residential areas (where they’re needed most). Starting with your neighborhood. And they make real interesting playground climbing equipment too. The kids’ll love them. I know we can count on you.
