Your problem cracking the riddle of the difference between the words ‘president’ and ‘precedent’ aren’t my problems, either. But you didn’t see me raising it earlier, did you?

".....You can't accuse him of lying and believe him only what suits you....."

Good point. The anti-Rudy folks try to have it both ways. Not a very good "strategy." lol

"....Either Fred Thompson, Romney or McCain would be far better choices.Pundits like Luntz et al are not worth listening to as they are apologists for the RATS...."

So, my choices are a non-candidate, a flip-flopping, blow dried Mormon, or a Kennedy loving Rino?

Courts overturn decisions, Congress doesn't overturn its own laws - it would repeal it. That means the law no longer has any legal force. Now, the Hyde Amendment says that there is to be no federal funding for abortions except in some cases - rape, incest, and health of the mother. In other words, the law (Hyde Amendment) is a ban on funding in most cases and repealing it eliminates the ban. Thus, repealing the law means they can legally fund more abortions.

In this case, once the law is repealed the restrictions are eliminated. Once the restrictions are eliminated, abortions could be funded in any number of ways, through administrative regulations or executive orders, and since the Democrats intend to facilitate more abortions, Congress could write and pass a series of bills and new laws allowing for increased federal funding for abortions.

So to answer your question:

"If you [Rudy] were president and a Democratic Congress passed a bill overturning the Hyde Amendment, would you veto it?"

The answer should be, "Yes I would veto it.”

And Rudy would add that the veto keeps the law as it is, as the Hyde Amendment has been good enough (with minor changes) for 3 decades, and the reason for this (Rudy would say) is that it will eliminate new laws funding more abortions.

"If you [Rudy] were president and a Democratic Congress passed a bill overturning the Hyde Amendment, would you veto it?" . . . The answer should be, "Yes I would veto it."

That's the way you'd like him to answer the question. There is no evidence to indicate that this is the case. I've seen him "up close" for his entire career in politics, and there has never been a single instance in which his voiced support for any kind of restrictions on abortion.

And Rudy would add that the veto keeps the law as it is, as the Hyde Amendment has been good enough (with minor changes) for 3 decades, and the reason for this (Rudy would say) is that it will eliminate new laws funding more abortions.

Again -- You'd like to believe that he'd say this, but I think this is a lot of wishful thinking on your part.

I will keep in mind that my posts about Rudy triggers an automatic negative reply from you - so I'm going to be careful and simply avoid falling into this.... “let me ask you something, so I can say you are wrong” game.

Hey, don't get me wrong . . . I thought you provided perfectly reasonable, rational answers there!

I'm just not sure that what you've stated there reflects reality (as best as I can see it without being inside Giuliani's head).

I think Victoria Delsoul would be a far better candidate -- by a wide margin -- than Rudy Giuliani. ;-)

Rudy’s support for medicaid funded abortion is getting a lot of publicity and he can flipflop all he wants, but the cat is out of the bag. He was for it, before he was against it. The bottom line is that he is a hard left abortion supporter who cannot bring himself to condemn these grisly procedures and even wants you to pay for them!

Well, I'm pro-life, against same sex marriage, pro second amendment, and pro constitution so there wouldn't be any should've, would've, could've with me.

I have loved politics since my parents past time was watching and discussing politics, not that we didn't do many other activities together. I had a good childhood, and politcs was part of it and something I lhave always liked.

Having said that, I don't have any ambition to run for anything except running around my block or along the park, lol. I couldn't stand the glare and cynicism that comes with a political job.

That's what I love about ya, Victoria. ;-)
But for heaven's sake -- with political stances like this, why the heck would you ever support a candidate like Rudy Giuliani?

And you're a smart cookie, too. LOL.
