Do we know if his 707 has had the engines modified to be more fuel efficient and less polluting? Modern, efficient engines won't fit on a 707 (they are too fat).

No, those are the original fuel burning engines.
The 707 has been re-engined with much more powerful and quiet fuel efficient engines, the National Guard of AZ has them for their refueling wing.
