To those that don't know Savage or listen to him, he claims to be an "independent conservative"... He surely does espouse some conservative views, but the vile he spews towards Bush, his cabinet, and other Republicans and GOPers could be mistaken for Air America trash.
It would be easy to blow him off as another looney blow-hard, but he's the 3rd most listened-to talk show host in the nation... He has over 8 million listeners, and in calling himself a conservative, he DOES have some real influence there. He's supposed to be on our side, but shifts positions so often, he's become a joke. He embodies every lefty criticism of our side.
In listening to parts of his show last night, he has the following things to say, in a short time span...
* Syria isn't nearly as bad as Iran, they can be spoken to, they don't threaten Israel, they are nationalists not fundamentalists
* The war was started to benefit Oil companies.
* Blasted Bush to no end, said Rice should have been fired a long time ago, blasted the rest of the cabinet
* Said it was OK for Pelosi to go talk to Syria
* Asked why is there a division between GOP and Dems, why do we automatically assume everything they do should be hated, etc.
In my view, this scum is far more dangerous than Air America and nearly every lib out there. He's pretending to be a conservative, yet does more damage to our causes than any other non-politician I can think of, because he has the influence to sway people.
This guy is an utter disgrace and a phony.
I listen to almost zero talk radio anymore. I have a busy workday + commute and don’t need the added stress in the evening, of the bad news and the yelling.

I think I've outed you pretty well on this thread, it's always unfortunate when people won't face the TRUTH when it's presented to them factually.
However I won't hold it against you but you're only doing yourself and your cause a disservice when you won't/can't own up to the error of your ways.

Oh, my! You're even more delusional than normal! I somehow doubt the perpetrators in the headlines you've listed know anything about Savage, or his listeners here on FR. Judging by the popularity of conservative talk radio, even in Democrat markets (such as where I live), liberals don't listen to talk radio. The demise of Air America is another example.

I agree with your posts. This place has mophed into a haven of Bush-bots. Savage, Glenn Beck, and Boortz are the only radio hosts I listen to any more. It’s too painfull to listen to listen to the GOP water carriers.
What treaty did she negotiate? Where did she duplicate the SoS’s role? She is Speaker of the House, a co-equal branch t the executive - she doesn’t take orders from the president, just like he doesn’t take orders from her.
I’m inclined to consider this event as a political shot at the president, and I’m inclined not to support itm a decision I’ll make when more info comes in.
But all of that doesn’t amount to treason.
Look, enough is enough.
Say what you want on Savage. Everybody’s got their opinion of the guy. Some people enjoy listening to him, others are turned off. Are his views controversial? Absolutely. Does he think out of the box? Yes.
But the answer is simple. I’ve said it numerous times, and I’ll say it again. If you don’t like Savage or don’t like what he has to say, don’t listen to him. Contrary to popular belief, virtually all radios have tuner buttons—find something else to listen to.
Rather than posting threads, comments, etc. bashing a talk show host, why not try to win people over by positively promoting your own host (e.g. Levin, Rush, etc.), rather than harassing people who like Savage?
How about showing other FReepers why host X is worth listening to over host y based on the merits rather than resorting to digital feces-slinging?
Does anybody see people from the Savage threads go on Rush, Levin, etc. threads and start trashing them with stupid graphics, inane posts, and juvenile behavior?
Leave Savage for those who want to listen to him. People have their own opinions, and by trashing other FReepers, we soil everyone’s reputation here. We’re all better than this—these antics are what I expect from the ‘RATS and Libs.
Let’s grow up for once and start acting like reasonable conservatives, shall we?
Yes, I’m that frustrated. I’m tired of all of us ripping on each other solely because of who we listen to on the radio. I’m even more tired of appearing to be one of the few, if not the only reasoned voice on some of these threads. Most of all, it’s annoying to have to state the same things over and over again.
Can’t cooler heads prevail here for once?

That said, there are things I strongly disagree with him on. His comments regarding Pelosi and Syria is an excellent example. He was wrong there, period. Admittedly, I only caught them in passing, but heard enough to push my buttons.
