The client's websense administrator can only unblock categories of sites, not individual sites. It is clearly Websense itself that has classified LGF as a racist hate site.

Racism and Hate

"Sites that promote the identification of racial groups, the denigration or subjection of groups, or the superiority of any group.

They do not block CAIR, Daily Kos, or any number of overtly jihadist websites. They also don't block ABC television, of course, where a large part of highly paid help is involved in spewing hate at the Bush administration and the US defense administration and facilitating the genocidal intentions of anti-Israel jihadists.

Wikipedia entry on Websense

"According to the OpenNet Initiative, Websense is used by internet service providers in Iran and Yemen as part of the government enforced censorship programme. It is also used in China according to Amnesty international."

From the Websense Company profile:

"Founded in 1994, Websense, Inc. (NASDAQ: WBSN) is the global leader of web filtering and a premier provider of web and desktop security software. Recognized as one of Forbes Magazine's 2004 "Top 25 Technology Companies", Websense has 24.5 million seats under subscription worldwide across all industries, in small organizations and large multinational corporations."

And while you're at LGF, please check out this comment from a leftist dhimmi lurker:

"....the entire point of this blog is to demonize Islam and Muslims. While it doesn't really rise to the level of a hate site, (I'd reserve that tag for freerepublic) I doubt many people here appreciate how those who aren't on the far right perceive the articles that get posted here day after day, and the comments that compliment them.

My husband works for the State of NY. They use a real heavy filter (as in he can’t even check his yahoo mail). They block FR and Kos, but not DU. Go figure.

“I doubt many people here appreciate how those who aren’t on the far right perceive the articles that get posted here”

Sure we do. Otherwise we’d be at Kos, DU, or some Islamic blog.

FWIW, and in websense currency probably not much, this is what I posted to websense via their web form.

Also, side note: YeeHaw! I caught LGF’s registration open today and got an I.D. Sweet.

LittleGreenFootballs.com is NOT a racism or hate site. Your company shows certain dhimmitude by considering it as such.
First, Islam is not a race.
Second, hating jihadis is moral duty.

So, your company proves itself to be one of the following:
— Stupid (ie Identifying Islam as a Race)
— On the wrong side of the war for western civilization

What is it?

Do you not hate terrorists?

Or, are you not bright enough to understand race has nothing to do with it?

Thanks for proving LGF’s point of existence.

IE: We better fight the jihadis hard, because a lot of people like you are actively giving them support.

You do realize I will now go through life knowing you people hate me and hate Western Civilization. Oh, the dhimmi rich irony! You hate Western Civilization, so you block a site for hate. Rich. Dhimmi rich.

I'm not sure exactly what effect this has on LGF. Would the biased tag keep anyone from finding the site, make it unusable in any way?

I am totally ignorant in the methods in which internet censoring take place, but am aware of shenanigans like Google's censoring free speech/reading in China, just don't know how, or why we allow Google or any US company or government official to knowingly collude with a hostile foreign government attempting to spread negative misinformation about America.

Nuts. Do they accept gmail? The only time I caught open registration, they wouldn’t take whatever I was using.

I don't remember if gmail was specifically mentioned. I think it was yahoo and hotmail that were listed as examples of "no free email accounts" but gmail is probably out, listed or not.

i was glad i have a couple of good ol fashion email accounts via my ISP. I have not used them in forever but I guess they come in handy some times.

I don't know that I'll post on LGF very much if at all, just couldn't not sign up when I saw the open sign.

Good Luck.
