The 'queen of nice' goes nuts
LA Times ^ | 4-3-07 | JONAH GOLDBERG

Posted on 04/03/2007 5:13:01 AM PDT by veronica

Rosie O'Donnell's wacky 9/11 conspiracy theories should get her kicked off 'The View.'

RENOWNED metallurgist Rosie O'Donnell proclaimed on TV on Thursday that Sept. 11, 2001, was a more significant date than most of us realized. It was, in her words, "the first time in history that fire has ever melted steel."

This, of course, came as news to steelworkers, blacksmiths, firefighters, manufacturers of samurai swords and other fools who hadn't realized that steel is forged in magic furnaces using dragon breath and pixie dust.

O'Donnell made this and other profoundly stupid comments on the daytime talk show "The View," ABC's update of the ancient practice of women chattering around the village well.

The former "queen of nice" seems to think that the show is the perfect venue to audition as grand marshal for the next tinfoil hat parade. And if you visit O'Donnell's website (www.rosie.com), you'll find her application's supporting materials: all sorts of unadulterated moonbattery presented in the Esperanto of global derangement — a form of instant-message-style free verse. For example, she writes about the British sailors held prisoner in Iran:

the british did it on purpose

into iranian waters

as

US MILITARY BUILD UP ON

THE IRANIAN BORDER

we will be in iran

before summer

as planned

come on people

u have 2 c

i know u can

You may be unfamiliar with such psych-ward stylings, but I get e-mail written like this all the time. Perhaps if you believe the jackbooted thugs are at your door, it's reasonable to think you don't have time to spell out your words.

She gives lesbians a bad name. She’s a cliche. Ugly, fat, aggressive, always looking for a fight. At least Ellen DeGeneres is cheerful.

Sorry folks, I didn’t care for the Clinton administration one iota, but I would never have thought that they would purposely sabotage and destroy American people and property.

We never had to imagine they would.

We saw them do it via Janet Reno to American people and property in Waco and a little Cuban boy named Elian.

“I really dont think this woman even went to highschool.”

oh, but there’s more.

visit that site and read her answers to different people who challenge her - it goes beyond stupid.

Some people did email her about the popular mechanics article and challenged her “fire doesn’t melt steel” stupidity.
Her response?

fire doesn’t turn concrete into rubble.

And I’m thinking....”no honey....the collapse is what takes care of that”....

it’s hopeless.

It has occurred to me that 911 and global warming are similar

Global warming is a wonderful distraction from the complex and frightening problems revealed by 9/11. Many Americans who are finding that a War on Terror is just too hard to understand and too terrible to contemplate grasp on to the global warming "crisis". Since those who resist a War on Terror have no real alternative beyond paying ransome money to monsters it's so much easier to fret about the weather and try and effect change through the usual liberal way (lawsuits, taxation, deprivation). So like children, they'll worry more about the warming coming out of an SUV's tailpipe than the warming from a thermonuclear detonation. Why it's almost childlike in its simplicity...got it? C I knew U Can?

Look folks, I'm in the structural steel designing field, so I know what I'm talking about. Jet fuel burns at about 800° to 1500° depending on how much oxygen is being fed to the flames. High strength steel (A572-Grade 50) begins to loose its' structural integrity at around 600°. Those fires burned for at least an hour in a strong wind; long enough to defeat any safety threshold designed into the structure.

Now if they'd only been allowed to encase the structural steel in asbestos like had been done for decades past, It would have been a whole different story...

“At least Ellen DeGeneres is cheerful.”

I like Ellen, which irritates my husband.
But - how can you NOT like Dory the fish?

LOL!!!

The sears commercial was about their sale on Craftsmen tools.
Maybe they think we’re shopping for father’s day already?

She’s funny. Like Seinfeld, she finds the absurd comedy in the every day. She doesn’t seem angry, like Rosie.

well...Rosie’s obsession isn’t with the Twin Towers - it’s with WT7, which collapsed later.

She claims there were only 3 “small fires”. Not true.

She ignores that WT7 was hit by debri from the plane crash and gouged out a large portion of the building -compromising the structural support.

Another freeper thread talked about some sort of fuel that was stored in WT7 that would have ignited and exploded as well -keeping the fires hot and lengthy.

I forget what kind of fuel or why it was there.

you’re right - Ellen is downright bright and cheerful.
As my husband puts it...”well...look at her girlfriend!”

Ellen’s date was the prettiest woman at the Oscars.

There were 4000 to 36000 gallons of diesel fuel stored in WT7.

I wouldn’t go quite that far. She actually looks anorexic to me. I think she has weight issues. But certainly they are better looking than Rosie and her “wife.”
