Rosie O'Donnell's wacky 9/11 conspiracy theories should get her kicked off 'The View.'
RENOWNED metallurgist Rosie O'Donnell proclaimed on TV on Thursday that Sept. 11, 2001, was a more significant date than most of us realized. It was, in her words, "the first time in history that fire has ever melted steel."
This, of course, came as news to steelworkers, blacksmiths, firefighters, manufacturers of samurai swords and other fools who hadn't realized that steel is forged in magic furnaces using dragon breath and pixie dust.
O'Donnell made this and other profoundly stupid comments on the daytime talk show "The View," ABC's update of the ancient practice of women chattering around the village well.
The former "queen of nice" seems to think that the show is the perfect venue to audition as grand marshal for the next tinfoil hat parade. And if you visit O'Donnell's website (www.rosie.com), you'll find her application's supporting materials: all sorts of unadulterated moonbattery presented in the Esperanto of global derangement a form of instant-message-style free verse. For example, she writes about the British sailors held prisoner in Iran:
the british did it on purpose
into iranian waters
as
US MILITARY BUILD UP ON
THE IRANIAN BORDER
we will be in iran
before summer
as planned
come on people
u have 2 c
i know u can
You may be unfamiliar with such psych-ward stylings, but I get e-mail written like this all the time. Perhaps if you believe the jackbooted thugs are at your door, it's reasonable to think you don't have time to spell out your words.

Once, long ago, she was a decent comedienne. I’m glad I’ve never watched her out of that context except for a few grueling seconds when accidentally landing on The View. I heard she was such a rabid anti-gun nut on her show that she even pissed off Bernadette Peters.
My name is Jeff, and Hi to you, too!
O'Donnell Democrats. South Park Republicans. I think that shows the attitudes of many in the respective parties. Mindless paranoid blather vs. intelligent scathing satire.
Paula Poundstons is my favorite lesbian, escept for that whole gay pedophilia thing.
Why does Rosie type like she’s a DEE DEE DEE ?
( See Carlos Mencia )
“the first time in history that fire has ever melted steel.”
Maybe she ‘thinks’ the conflagration of 10,000 gallons of jet fuel is comparable to a zippo lighting a cigar?
Seriously, she must be swallowing and regurgitating the ramblings of some burned out hippie guru.
Has anyone in the MSM called O’Donnell on this steel-doesn’t-melt comment, as they surely would have if it had been made by a prominent conservative? If Bush had said that, it would be all over the late night talk shows.
LOL. Sorry to bring that up.
O’Reilly correctly observed the contrast between the coverage Coulter’s comment received vs. this episode.
If Rosie ever learns how to read other than comic books, she should check out the Popular Mechanic’s book “Debunking 9/11 Myths,” which systematically and (a new concept to the Algores and Rosie O’Dumbells of the world) SCIENTIFICALLY explains the tin-foil hat crowd’s theories.
It’s funny that the Publisher of PM became a member of the “Illumati” cabal shortly after publishing their findings last year. Before that, he was just a magazine guy.
Ellen DeGeneres is very funny. Very quick.
Her past problem wasn’t being gay, but shoving her gayness down everyone’s throat.
And she appears to be a very decent individual.
I think her past problem was the fact she was hooked up with that kooky Anne Heche.
If she hadn’t stumbled upon her she may have skipped right past that difficult time in her career.
According to the rebuttal Popular Mechanics published in response to Rosie’s blathering, there was a major NYC disaster command and communications center in WTC7, so they had some pretty hefty on-site generating capabilities to support that. There were several fuel tanks in the building, including two 6,000 gallon fuel tanks in the basement.
