If this is true, then the "conservative wing" of the Republican Party ... (1) is pro-choice
(2) favors the McCain-Feingold bipartisan "Campaign Finance Reform" act
(3) supported keeping Bill Clinton in office after he was impeached
(4) supports affirmative action
Those are not conservative positions.
Put him in for 8 yr. Hillary’s legs can get a lot fatter and her and Bill & the other RATS can demo servicing queers in various public settings in preparation for 2017. That oughta keep occupied.
Fear the Fred!
Except that he voted for McCain/Feingold and is open borders.
2) Thompson was outside politics from 2002-2008 when Republican stock went downhill. As a corollary, Thompson is not tied to President Bush or the current Senate in any way.
See, if Thompson had been there he would've single-handedly prevented the Republican party from becoming socialists and he would've done something about the border? Yeah, sure.
3) Thompson's ability to communicate ideas clearly and earnestly makes many think of Reagan's ability to win over people to ideas that are not necessarily popular...
He plays a conservative on TV...just like Reagan. That makes him...REAGAN!
4) Most people like a person who is not a career politician but is an educated and active citizen to be President...
...and Thompson has carefully remained aloof since the days of Watergate hearings to give just that impression.
5) Thompson is probably the most conservative electable candidate...
...who voted for McCain/Feingold and is open borders. He'll be no different than Bush.
Looks like Fred’s doing ok on the new Rasmussen, check it out.
Fourteen percent. Giuliani, down to 26 percent!
From Rasmussen:
April 3, 2007
“The addition of former Tennessee Senator Fred Thompson (R) to the list of candidates shakes up the race for the GOP Presidential nomination.
“Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R) remains on top, but his support dips below the 30% mark for the first time in seven weeks. With Thompson in the mix, Giulianis support tumbles to 26%, down nine points from a week ago. Thats the lowest level of support measured for Giuliani in any Rasmussen Reports poll this year.”
If you'd like to be added to the Fred Thompson list, let Howlin or me know.
CAUTION: This is a very high volume ping list. You may receive between 5 and 10 pings a day. If you'd rather not receive so many pings, let me know and I'll only ping you once a week.
Conservative Talk radio 570 KVI at The Mariner’s Salute to Armed Forces Night tonight at Safeco will be handing out I’M A FRED HEAD STICKERS at their booth.
The morning host Kirby Wilber is on fire for Fred Thompson.
