(March 31) - Rosie O'Donnell has never been one to shy away from speaking her mind, but her latest controversial topic of conversation on 'The View' brought up a taboo that most daytime talk shows would never go near – the possibility of a conspiracy on 9/11

The Grotesque one responds. Democracy is Dead:

9/11 affected me deeply, as I know it did many Americans. The falling of the twin towers served to remind me that many of the assumptions Americans have about their lives are rooted in false feelings of security. In light of this reminder, I have begun doing exactly what this country, at its best, allows for me to do: inquire. Investigate. America is great in so many ways, one of which is the freedom to speak, and indeed think, freely. I have, of late, begun exercising the rights bestowed upon me by the democratic system I value, and the exercising of these rights has taken the form of an inquiry into what happened five years ago, an inquiry that resists the dominant explanations and that dares to entertain ideas that push me to the edge of what is bearable. I have come to no conclusions and, given the scope of the subject, will not for some time.

If the very act of asking is so destabilizing for people, than I have to wonder whether the fabric of our democracy is indeed so raveled it is beyond salvage. My own belief is that the act of asking is itself reparative, because it brings to life the values on which our constitution rests. I am, therefore, pledging my allegiance, hand over heart, trying, as always, for a rigorous truth.

She's also entitled to her opinion.

I'm entitled to my opinion.
You're entitled to your opinion.
Rosie is entitled to her opinion.

But, given her position, Rosie is selling her opinion. Of course she can do that. But it makes sense for reasonable people to contact her employer and her sponosrs and say "I ain't buying any more of that crap."

When she's unemployed, she will still be entitled to her opinion. I just want to take away her soapbox. The Constitution doesn't guarantee her an extra-large soapbox.

I agree. Otherwise, ABC would have hired someone other than Elizabeth Hasselbeck for balance. I think she is a very personable and polite woman, but she gets shouted down every single time.

Liberals never listen to anyone but themselves, anyway. Joy Behar is just vicious, but Rosie is loud and she is sick. EH gets crushed on every single program, sending the message that the conservative voice can be drowned out.

Except when she's hanging upside down...shiver... just the thought of her hanging upside down gives me the creeps!

I figure the rig that supports her would have to be 1/2" 16 Strand wire rope attached to a 12" X 12" Steel I beam as a minimum. A Manatowac 600 Ton Crane would be needed to lift her to it...Damn

NONONO! Let her stay and spout this stuff as much as she wants. She only looks foolish, BUT - get a real conservative on that show to rebut her. Poor Elizabeth is out of her league.

Is the view now competing with Jerry Springer, and Maurie Povich? Sounds like about the same logic.

No. The difference with her is she is allowed to broadcast her stupidity to millions and presents it as obvious fact that only a dunderhead can't see. I've never seen the show so I don't have a clue if they ever present a counterpoint.

Fire doesn't melt steel? That would be a big surprise to some of my forefathers working in Sloss Furnace here in Birmingham.

I don't know a lot about airplane fuel but I've always heard it burns pretty hot. LOL

Rosie guarantees the show tremendous amounts of free advertising. She is a cash cow. How many articles & headlines in a month reference this crappy show?

More and more you see Hollywood and TV manufacturing news for the free publicity. How many recent movies have you noticed with the lead actors involved in something off the set that makes headlines. Tom Cruise is certainly guilty, and how about Eddie Griffin smashing that Enzo Ferrari, emerging cool as a cucumber issuing one-liners.

Hell, how many folks have more knowledge than they want, and even an opinion to boot, of a show they've never watched? All you have to do is have Rosie in the title in a thread and watch the posts just flood in.

Rosie's opinion doesn't matter, she completely nuts and willing to play it up even further.

Can you imagine Ann Coulter and Rosie O'Donnel going at it. Even Joy Behr wouldn't be able to get a word in edgewise. LOL!

Wait...Bush is a moron...Wait...Bush pulled off the greatest conspiracy of all time...Wait...Bush is a moron...Wait...

lol

I like how Rosie so ignorantly claims that fire cannot melt steel. Fire melts steel all the time. It depends on the temperature of the fire.

I don't believe in all these discussions of whether or not a TV personality should be fired. I think that decision should come from the network and producers, which in turn comes from, like you say, individual remote control behavior.
